After a day out exploring, the cosy, traditionally styled living room encourages guests to unwind on the two soft sofas located in front of the feature fireplace and wood burner. Next door, the farmhouse kitchen/diner is equipped with everything you’ll need to rustle up a hearty home-cooked meal. For an active adventure, walks around the Usk Reservoir and through the Glasfynydd Forest (12 miles) are a great place to start. Here you’ll find serene spots to stop off for a picnic, a mighty array of wildlife and some fascinating flora and fauna. A fantastic family day out can be found at the National Showcaves Centre for Wales (20 miles) where you’ll be able to tour the deep underground passages and visit more than 220 life-sized dinosaurs at the world’s biggest dinosaur park.
