A quaint pet-friendly cottage within 13.5 miles of Dolgellau and Machynlleth, two of the many vibrant market towns found across Snowdonia National Park. Featuring a delightful enclosed back garden, attic room and open-plan living areas, this cottage has all that a small family or group or friends could want from a relaxing hideaway close to some of North Wales’ most awe-inspiring peaks and glorious coastline.
This traditional end-of-terrace cottage has been updated to offer modern creature comforts but retains much of its original character, with exposed stone walls and wood beams evident throughout. Each room has a gentle, welcoming feel to it, thanks in part to contemporary decor that glistens in the light that floods in from all directions. After passing through the porch, you’ll find yourself in an open-plan living/kitchen/diner that runs the length of the ground floor, with pockets of comfortable seating running across its wooden flooring. A beautifully-appointed bathroom stands on the first floor, along with a compact double bedroom and a separate dressing room. The dressing room leads up to the attic/ super-king-size bedroom, which can be converted into a twin bedroom: a quiet place to hang out during the day. There’s plenty of room in the enclosed courtyard garden for alfresco brunches, with a lawned area beyond for playful children and a furry best friend.
Pick up any of the footpaths and trails around Mallwyd and Dinas Mawddwy (both within 3 miles) for a memorable introduction to the Snowdonia National Park, home to iconic peaks including Cader Idris and Aran Fawddwy. A day at Fairbourne Beach (18 miles) is worth it for the journey alone, but you just wait until that coastline opens up in front of you.
