This traditional stone cottage is set in a truly rural location, enjoying stunning views across the Brecon Beacons and offering comfortable, dog-friendly accommodation for couples and small families. Just 4 miles away is the bustling market town of Brecon which is well known for its famous jazz festival, independent shops and cafes, history, military connections, and its magnificent cathedral. Walkers and cyclists can embrace the many waymarked paths along the rivers and canals, countryside, and mountain ranges where endless adventure awaits. Llangorse Lake - the largest natural lake in South Wales - caters for paddle boarding and kayaking (12 miles). Travel underground at the National Showcaves Centre or step back in time with a day at the Big Pit Museum Blaenavon (30 miles). For the more easy-going guests, there are some lovely market towns with farmers markets such as Hay-on-Wye, Crickhowell and Builth Wells all within 20 miles.
One of six barns nestled within the Welsh countryside, this holiday retreat is part of a terrace of three cottages, formally a milking shed and cow barn. Offering reverse-level living arrangements and a front aspect onto the shared courtyard, the property greets you with an entrance hall for kicking off walking boots before guests head upstairs to the first-floor living space. Here, unwind in the lounge beneath the exposed beams, kicking back on the sofas while the Smart TV plays your favourite films. When stomachs start to rumble, a delightful kitchen awaits in the corner, well-equipped with all you’ll need for a self-catered stay, while the country-style dining space is where you’ll gather for memorable meals. Completing the first floor is the fantastic private terrace where guests can take in the marvellous views of the Brecon Beacons and enjoy al fresco morning coffees and evening meals. When eyelids start to droop, head downstairs where an inviting bedroom beckons relaxation with its two double beds, served by a well-appointed shower room that completes the interior.
Outside, the space is shared between five other cottages, and guests are invited to use the indoor heated pool, a bubbling hot tub, and the communal courtyard with outdoor seating. On-site, start the day with a peaceful farm walk where you’ll spot tractors and animals along the way, as well as a fun children’s play area that any smaller guests will adore.
