This detached, converted barn offers a beautiful, peaceful base for your holidays in Anglesey. The cottage is set within its own enclosed garden with expansive countryside views. Only 2 miles from Menai Bridge and the crossing over the Menai Straits to mainland North Wales, this is a truly a excellent base to explore Anglesey and the rest of North Wales.
Menai Bridge (Porthaethwy in Welsh) offers a range of amenities including a Waitrose supermarket and a fantastic provision of restaurants such as Dylan's, The Straits, Freckled Angel and the Michelin Star awarded Sosban & The Old Butchers Restaurant. For a relaxing drink, the Victoria and Tafarn y Bont in Menai Bridge are both recommended. The beautiful coastal town of Beaumaris is also within 5 miles and features a Castle (World Heritage Site), gaol and courthouse, a Victorian Pier and beach and a further choice of excellent cafes and restaurants such as Ye Old Bulls Head Inn.
Trehafod cottage is also perfectly located to visit the rest of the island’s attractions, as well as over the bridge on mainland North Wales. Anglesey offers a range of blue flag beaches all around the coast, copper Mountain with its surreal lunar landscape and Bryn Celli Ddu’s well preserved stone-age burial chamber near Llanddaniel Fab. Take a tour around Llynnon Mill - the only working Wind Mill in Wales, and for the artists amongst you, Oriel Mon along with its ‘Blas Mwy’ Café is a must.
For younger visitors Pili Palas’ butterfly centre (5 miles) offers a magical experience and also features birds, snakes and other exotic species. Within 10 miles of the holiday cottage, Anglesey Sea Zoo (Wales’ biggest aquarium) offers an amazing world of marine life, shipwrecks and shark pool grids. Foel Farm Park is another great family day out where you can experience the sights, sounds and smells of a real working farm.
Over the bridge in North Wales, Greenwood Forest Park (11 miles) was voted the best family attraction in North Wales and includes the world’s only people powered roller coaster. Under the bridge, enjoy a peaceful boat ride or an adrenaline fuelled Rib Ride on the Menai Straits. If you love adventure, we also dare you to take on the longest Zip Wire ride in Europe at Bethesda, less than 10 miles away. As mentioned, this really is a great base for your holidays in Anglesey.

2 nights in November to celebrate my birthday. Absolutely beautiful property, owners very helpful and lovely welcome package of locally sourced food greatly appreciated. Fantastic 8 seater hot tub with lights and music, gorgeous log burner, under floor heating and really comfortable beds. Kitchen was well equipped to cater for all our needs. Loved the views across the open countryside, felt so at home. Car needed but lots to visit within a short distance. Highly recommended. Would love to return to enjoy again. Mrs Bev Baguley - 10th December 2018
Just to say briefly that this property was by far the best equipt that we have ever stayed in, a big thank you to the owners nothing is too much trouble, an exemplary property to be proud of well done!Mr P Kilner - 22nd November 2018
Fantastic property at a location convenient to Zipworld activities.Mrs Gail Martin - 6th October 2018
Trehafod is a stunning property, with no expenses spared on the building and furnishings - the attention to detail is spot on! The owners have used local craftsmen in converting the stone farm building to the luxurious cottage it is now, and the addition of items like a large range cooker, woodburning stove and swim spa make for a wonderful break. We couldn't have felt more welcome or pampered! Although only on Anglesey for a couple of days, we had a magical time there - highlights were exploring the copper mines of Parys Mountain and the Neolithic burial site of Bryn Celli Ddu. Candia from Cheltenham - 2nd October 2018

The property was exceptional, all high spec inside i would recommend this house to anyone whom is thinking of renting a property in north wales ,the owners were fantastic and could not do enough for us. plenty to do within a 10 minute drive. Once home the hot tub was a great way to relax. Miss Lisa Jennions - 20th August 2018
The cottage has been carefully designed to meet the needs of visitors and their families. The layout makes the cottage very flexible, especially the variety of the bedrooms. The fittings, furnishing and décor have been finished to the highest standards. Outside, the gardens, garden furniture and other facilities are equally top drawer. The garden provides a safe playing area for children, and the patio looks out over stunning views and glorious sunsets. The owners are clearly committed to maintaining their high standards and to developing and improving the cottage and its facilities. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The "Best of Wales" website got our holiday planning off to a great start. Easy to follow, comprehensive in content and a top class photo gallery. Future information and correspondence was timely and precise. The cottage is ideally situated to explore the island whilst remaining within easy reach of the mainland to visit Snowdonia, Conwy Valley etc. The cottage accommodation is flexible to suit different family requirements. It has been finished to the highest standards and continues to be maintained to those standards. The hosts take care of your every need and nothing is too much trouble.
