Halloween Trains, Thomas the Tank Engine and October Half Term Week Heritage Railway steam trains in Wales

Several of the Heritage Railways in Wales will be running special Halloween train and most will be open during the October Half Term week. Click on any of the following areas for further information and cottages near these railways.
Visitors to the North Cambrian coast area can join the Talyllyn Railway on Wednesday and Thursday 30 & 31 October for a fun spooky evening train ride along the line to the haunted woods at Dolgoch! The Railway will also have daily trains from 26 October through to 3 November. Steam trains will be running on the Fairbourne Railway from Saturday 26th until the 31st.
In the North Wales area, the ever-popular Halloween trains are back again this year; trains run from Porthmadog on the Ffestiniog on 29, 30 and 31October and from Caernarfon on the Welsh Highland on Thursday 31st. For the Abergavenny area, ghost Trains run from the Pontypool and Blaenavon Railway’s very scary Sidings on 30 and 31 October.
Brecon Beacons visitors can ride on the Brecon Mountain Railway with departures every day from Saturday 26 October through to Sunday 3 November. The Vale of Rheidol Railway will be running Halloween trains departing from Aberystwyth for Devils Bridge from Thursday 31 October to Sunday 2 November.
Near Carmarthen, The Gwili Railway will have steam trains departing from Bronwydd Arms station on 20th, 22nd and 23rd October and then every day from 26 October to 2 November.
For visitors to the Llangollen area, Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends next visit to the Llangollen Railway will be on Saturdays and Sundays 19 & 20 October and 26 & 27; for those brave enough, a Ghost Train will leave Llangollen station at 6pm on the 31st!
Two daily trains will run on the Welshpool & Llanfair Railway during the Half Term week on 26, 27, 29, 30 and 31 October plus on 2 and 3 November. In the Machynlleth area, the Corris Railway will be operating a diesel hauled service to Maespoeth Junction on 19, 20 and 27 October. The Bala Lake Railway will run two trains from Llanuwchllyn on Tuesday 22nd to Thursday 24th and also the following week 29th to 31st.
