You don’t have to be away from it all to enjoy a break in Wales this summer. Experience the welcome to be found in a traditional Welsh village or take advantage of staying in an historic market town or within easy reach of the city! Wales Holidays still has a variety of cottages within easy reach of a town or village available over the coming weeks.

W182 (Farmhouse near Carmarthen)Here are a few examples of such properties. Sleeping 8 in 4 bedrooms, the spacious detached 4* farmhouse near Carmarthen is great for families with lots of rooms to spread out in. On the yard of the working farm, the village shop and pub and within about ½ mile and the bustling county town is just 6 miles away.

Again in a quiet rural location, the cottage near Llanfair PG for 5 has a traditional yet quirky feel. Peacocks and guinea fowl wander the grounds of this Anglesey property, there are wonderful views across to Snowdonia and ¾ mile away is the village of Brynsiencyn.

For town properties, consider the grade II listed, half-timbered terraced cottage at Montgomery. With two bedrooms, the cottage sleeps 3 and the range of shops and restaurants of this historic border town with castle remains are just a short walk up the hill. Or how about the cottage at Llanwrtyd Wells which can sleep up to 4. The slate-fronted cottage is situated opposite the train station and just ¼ mile from the town centre.

The two-bedroomed cottage near Cardiff for 4 has all the amenities of the village of Taff’s Well within a five minute walk. The property benefits from being just a couple of minutes from the station where trains can get you into Cardiff centre and along to Cardiff Bay within 10 minutes!
