White water rafting for Wales Holidays visitors

Written by The Wales Cottage Holidays Team on

One of the many activities that Wales has to offer to really get your heart pumping is white water rafting. Experience the exhilaration of rushing down the rapids surrounded by the dramatic Welsh landscape.

October is the month when white water rafting begins again in the scenic gorges of the River Wye near Abergavenny and Hay-on-Wye. Set off from calm waters and cover up to 15 miles negotiating varying degrees of thundering white water.

Based in Llangollen there is white water rafting centre where just a sense of fun is required to enjoy the family friendly range of activities on the River Dee. The National White Water centre is based on the wild river of Trywern in the heart of Snowdonia.

Located near Bala, rafting is possible all year round and for the slightly less adventurous you can follow all the action from a woodland riverside walk without getting wet! You can even try rafting in the heart of the city!

The International Sports Village in Cardiff has an on-demand white water facility where children as young as 8 can take part in this most sociable of water sports.
