North Wales February Half Term Events
On 16 or 23 February, see if you can spot one of the red squirrels that make Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens on Anglesey their home as you walk among the thousands of snowdrops. Or at Bodnant Gardens near Conwy there is an opportunity to plant snowdrops between 22 and 28 February. A variety of activities will be available at the Greenwood Forest Park located close to Caernarfon with a choice of rides and woodland areas to explore; there is also an indoor play barn and café. The Welsh Mountain Zoo in Colwyn Bay has plenty of special events planned from 22 February including an adventure trail with prizes to be won and a Californian Sea Lion training show!
The Ffestiniog Railway is open on Saturdays, Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays of the February half term weeks and on 27 February the Model Railway Show opens at the National Slate Museum in Llanberis. On 15 February, Llandudno town hall is host to an Antiques and Collectors Fair and MOSTYN, the contemporary art venue will be hosting different exhibitions including previously unseen Tom Wood landscapes with the opportunity to meet Tom who will be at the gallery on the afternoon of 16 February.
Clwyd Theatr Cymru in Mold is celebrating the centenary year of Dylan Thomas’ birth with a new production of Under Milk Wood which runs until 3 March. Other special performances at the theatre include Daniel Morden, relating Tales from the Mabinogi on 19 February and the different Picnic Plays on 28 February. For fans of cbeebies, the Pavilion Theatre in Rhyl hosts the Chris & Pui Roadshow on 26 February and two days later ‘Ready Steady Cook Live’ comes to the theatre featuring chef Lesley Waters and the famous green and red pepper kitchens. Thomas the Tank Engine is back at the Llangollen Railway on 22 and 23 February; enjoy ‘A Day out with Thomas’ and meet the Fat Controller!
