Wales Food and Drink Festivals - April and May 2014

Visitors to Wales who love and appreciate their food and drink, have a number of major food Festivals and cider Festivals during April and May plus the regular Farmers Markets that are held in many towns once or more a month. Click on any of the following areas for more details of these Food Festivals.
For visitors to Mid Wales, Broneirion House, set in 4 acres of grounds near Llanidloes will be the venue for a Food Fair on Easter Sunday. Visitors will be able to sample and buy all sorts of high quality food, gourmet treats and drink, made and sold by local and national artisan producers. The Royal Welsh Spring Festival at Builth Wells takes place on Saturday and Sunday 17 and 18 May. Many of those supplying the Farmers Markets throughout the country are smallholders and they will be offering an exciting range of specialist foods of exceptional quality at the Festival.
The Wrexham Food Festival in North-east Wales is set to be a fantastic event to raise valuable funds for a local hospice. This two day extravaganza (17 and 18 May) will be held in front of Wrexham Guildhall and will include stalls and demonstrations.
In North Wales, the Colwyn Forties Festival of Food is on 12 and 13 April and will include cookery demonstrations and local food producers. This event was inspired by the fact that Colwyn Bay played a massive strategic role during the WWII as the headquarters for the Ministry of Food for the whole of the UK.
The Really Wild Food and Countryside Festival has become renowned for its friendly atmosphere, food, drink and entertainment. St David’s Bishop’s Palace in Pembrokeshire is the stunning setting and 24 and 25 May are the dates for this Festival. On the Gower, there are two events at the Heritage Centre.10 and 11 May are the dates for the Welsh Cheese and Cider Festival with a wide selection of locally produced cheese, cider and perry. A couple of weeks later, the Good Food Festival will be held on 25 & 26 May featuring an assortment of quality homemade food produce and demonstrations.
