Winter Olympic sports this February in Wales
If the Olympics have whetted your appetite for all things winter sports, there are plenty of opportunities throughout Wales to have a go at many of the featured events. We may not have a lot of snow and ice on offer but don’t let this dampen your enthusiasm!
Llandudno Ski Centre, along with a PermaSnow ski slope, boasts the longest Cresta toboggan run in Wales at 750m. Sno-tubing is also a fantastic, fun activity for all the family. Link your inflatable rings together and see how fast you can slide down the slope!
Take a trip over to the border Deeside Ice Rink, Chester where everyone from toddlers up can experience the joy of gliding round the Olympic size ice pad. Practice your triple axels or just be delighted to manage to stop gracefully!
SkiCardiff, a 10 minute drive from the centre of the capital and one of the first dry slop centres in Britain, offers skiing, snowboarding and tubing. Planet Ice is the place to go for all budding ice dancers down at Cardiff Bay.
Go back to basics with the dry ski slope at the Llangrannog Ski Centre on the west coast of Wales. On the south coast, overlooking Carmarthen Bay, the facilities at Ski Pembrey in the country park are great for having a go at skiing, snowboarding or tobogganing.
Wales Holidays has properties throughout Wales and do call us on 01686 628200 and we can search for the best property for you close to the attraction of your choice!
