From rabbits to giraffes (and all sizes in between the two!), farm attractions in Wales offer a wide range of animals and some wonderful days out for all he family. Between Narberth and Tenby in Pembrokeshire is the delightful and very popular Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo - a farm, a zoo and a funfair plus indoor and outdoor adventure play areas.
Visitors can see the farm animals, get on the indoor fairground rides, enjoy the outdoor Adventure Parks and the Carousel Woods indoor adventure playground and go to the Follywood Country Park and their very own zoo, which is home to the only giraffes in Wales.
Also in Pembrokeshire, to the east of Newport in the village of Eglwyswrw, is the Dyfed Shire Horse Farm and throughout the summer it has a daily working horse harness demonstration, ploughing with working horses, a farrier at work and falconry demonstrations.
At the Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park visitors can enjoy beautiful scenery, an island nature reserve, dramatic cliffs and maritime flowers. Farm animals include a donkey, pigs, sheep, goats, rare breed cattle, Shetland ponies, Welsh mountain ponies, rabbits, guinea pigs plus some from further afield, such as a wallaby, Vietnamese pigs, emus, rhea and a llama.
The Fantasy Farm Park is located near the village of Llanrhystud, nine miles south of Aberystwyth. The Park has a Farmers Barn and Animals, a pirate themed Soft Play Area, Nature walk and Picnic Area, Bumper Boats and Pedal Boats and Tractor & Trailer Rides. Also featured are Go Carts, Crazy Golf, Roller Races, a Model Farm with Pedal Tractors & Trailers, a wooden Adventure Play Area and an Excavator Sand Pit!
Just to the west of Menai Bridge on Anglesey in North Wales is Pili Palas - Butterfly Palace. But there is a lot more here than just the butterflies with birds, reptiles, lizards and bugs as well as a farm yard with pygmy goats, pot-bellied pigs and chickens. If you have been to any of these farm attractions - or any other in Wales - please let us have your comments.
