Cosy Cottages for Festive Fun!

Written by Ginnie James on

It’s nearly December and although those pesky Facebook friends have been posting for months that Christmas is nearly upon us it really is now coming up fast. Especially for those, like me, who haven’t given it much thought yet and can sense the annual festive panic start to build it’s time to start making a plan.

Here at Wales Cottage Holidays we love Christmas and we still have some wonderful properties available over the holidays if you want to spend some time away – with family and friends or without, we won’t judge!

For the quintessential cosy Welsh stone cottage you don’t need to look any further then Pentre Bach, a detached former granary set within the Snowdonia National Park. Curl up on the sofa with a glass of your favourite tipple in front of the woodburner and feel yourself relax. Betws y Coed, a principle village within the national park, is only 2 miles away where you can be guaranteed of a warm Welsh welcome. Four of you could have a delightful time at this charming property and with 10% off Christmas and New Year weekly bookings you can nab yourself a bargain.

Pentre Bach - One of the best cottages I have stayed in - can't wait to go back ! Miss Newell - 29th September 2015

If you want to really get away from it all take a look at Tynllidiart in the Elan Valley. Due to a cancellation this fantastic secluded farmhouse for 4 people is now available for both Christmas and New Year. With plenty of logs supplied for the woodburner , a great feature of the characterful lounge, and a view over the Garreg-ddu Reservoir you can’t get much better if peace and quiet are at the top of your Christmas list this year. Bring the dogs with you and get out and about into some of the most stunning landscapes around.

Tynllidiart - Wonderful location, spectacular views and a very cosy and welcoming cottage. Mr Edwards - 5th May 2015

Carnedd Dafydd and Carnedd Llywellyn offer 5* facilities set within homely stable and grain store conversions on a working farm in the Snowdonia National Park. Carnedd Dafydd is great for a family of four, set on two floors and with lovely large windows filling the living room with light. Single storey Carnedd Llywellyn sleeps 5 and has been adapted with wheelchair users in mind. The market town of Llanrwst is just a mile away for everything that you would need to keep you going for a week or so.

Carnedd Dafydd - We had a wonderful time. I don't know why people bother with airports when we have somewhere as beautiful as Wales on our doorstep! Mrs Walne - 3rd November 2014

Carnedd Llywellyn - It was warm, welcoming and exceeded our expectations. Truly wonderful. Thank you for a super holiday. Mr Herdman - 30th September 2015
