Property code: BN270

Located on an estate in the charming village of Talybont, this idyllic retreat for two offers plenty of rural character with glorious views across the Usk Valley, perfect for unwinding in front of the wood burner after a day of walking, hiking, and biking in the surrounding mountains and woodlands.

The exposed stone and beams pay homage to the cottage's heritage, while neutral walls and wooden fittings create an elegant interior. The well-equipped kitchen has a country cottage feel with a splash of colour, and a separate utility room adds practicality to the home. A few steps lead to the lounge, where you can curl up on the cushy sofa and watch a film in front of the wood burner. Upstairs, discover the spacious bedroom, complete with a king-size bed covered with a handmade patchwork quilt and offering beautiful views across the Usk Valley. The en-suite bathroom has a shower over the bath, and a granary door opens to a terrace and garden, the perfect spot to soak up the sun with a BBQ on a warm summer day.

Enjoy the convenience of being close to four pubs, a shop, and a coffee shop, all within 2 miles. For outdoor enthusiasts, Llangorse Activity Centre (4.5 miles) offers climbing walls, and Cantref Adventure Farm (7.5 miles) provides pony trekking. You can also hire a kayak and paddle along the Brecon and Monmouth Canal or take a scenic walk along the River Wye and the River Usk. A very warm welcome. Fun having hens and friendly black sheep around. Plenty of good walks nearby. Easy access due to road nearby although some traffic noise. The cottage is spacious and comfortable as well as rustic. Excellent bathroom. A real home from home. Owners couldn't do enough for us! A Victorian Welsh farm feel with lovely views.

The cottage is absolutely perfect for a couple looking for a quiet, peaceful place, yet still not a million miles from everywhere; ie 7 miles to Brecon. It is surprisingly spacious and very well kitted out with all the comforts of home. John, Emma, and Archie the Spaniel were very welcoming and always on hand if you needed them. There were 5 chickeRead morens that were almost domesticated that provided fresh, free, free range eggs, also very welcome. We genuinely loved it here. Hide

Perfect little cottage, I stayed here for a month while on business and I have zero complaints. The location is great with a lovely view of the valley. The cottage is spotless, very well equipped and modern but doesn't loose the rustic feel. It is just of the A40, and only 10 minutes away from Crick Howell, which is a beautiful little town. We had an enjoyable weeks stay. The cottage was as described, situated in a lovely secluded position, surrounded by apple orchards with views over the valley. The welcome goodies were appreciated. The owner visited most days to feed chickens and replenish the supply of bird food and we enjoyed his company and local recommendations. We visited BrecoRead moren, Crickhowell, Hay-on-Wye and the nearby Reservoir and ate out most days. We would recommend this property to our family and friends. Hide
