The gorgeous gardens of this beautiful cottage are perfect for relaxing in the sunshine, while the tranquil surroundings of the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park will help you recharge. With a wood burner for cosy evenings at home, it’s an ideal escape for families or small groups at any time of the year.
Hang your coats in the porch on the way in and enter the cottage’s stunning lounge, in which beams, a dresser and a long-case clock create a wonderfully traditional atmosphere. Elegant seating surrounds a wood burner and a TV, and if you feel the need for more entertainment you can choose from a selection of board games and jigsaws. For celebratory meals there’s a dining table and chairs in this room, complementing the breakfast table in the kitchen/diner which is ideal for breakfasts and snacks. The kitchen itself is a light and bright room: an enjoyable place in which to prepare holiday meals. The three charming bedrooms – two doubles and a twin - are on the first floor, sharing a family bathroom. Surrounding the cottage, enclosed gardens include mature trees and shrubs, flower borders, lawns and a choice of places to sit out and relax, whether sipping a coffee with a newspaper or joining together for a BBQ. Through a gate at the bottom of the garden you’ll find a shallow stream where little ones (under supervision) can paddle and play.
The cottage is located on a tranquil, no-through lane, close to Aber Village and 1 mile north of Talybont Reservoir, a beautiful spot for a scenic walk or some bird watching. Explore the Taff Cycle Trail, the Brinore Tramroad and the Henry Vaughan Walk, see the Blaen y Glyn waterfalls, 5.5 miles, or head into Talybont-on-Usk, 1 mile, for a meal or a pint in the pub.
