Set within the grounds of the owner’s home, this spacious getaway is perfect for walkers, cyclists, climbers and nature lovers discovering the area’s spellbinding woods and valleys. With ample space for up to two guests, the cottage has been tastefully furnished and decorated in light, soothing shades, and is surrounded by tranquil, breathtaking rural scenery.

Stepping inside this cosy and inviting cottage, the light and airy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is a great space to get together and unwind after a memorable day out. With a Smart TV and comfortable seating – including a sofa bed suitable for small children – the lounge is perfect for snuggling up to watch a film or chat about the day. The dining table is over to the side, ideal for sharing romantic meals for two which you can cook in the stylishly designed kitchen. The ground floor also features a refreshing shower room. When it’s time to retire for the night, stairs lead up and directly into the cosy, elegantly styled double bedroom sitting within the eaves of the cottage. Going outside, the charming garden offers views towards Folly Tower, and features a lovely patio with a BBQ and outdoor furniture, providing a delightful spot for dining alfresco on a sunny summer’s afternoon.

Mamhilad is a peaceful village with a friendly pub and plenty of waymarked paths leading through the Brecon Beacons. Both Usk (5.5 miles) and Abergavenny (9 miles) have some fantastic shops and restaurants, and local attractions include Llandegfedd Lake Visitor and Activity Centre, Usk Castle, the Big Pit National Coal Museum and the Blue Lagoon, all within 11 miles.

This little place was perfect. The standard of the accommodation, the equipment provided and all the linens and furnishings were excellent quality. I could happily live there! Location for walking was amazing, with a pub just up the road which offered great food. Garden was brilliant even for our very large mastiff, fully enclosed and private. She Read moreloved it. Comfortable, spacious cottage in a peaceful setting with lovely views from the enclosed garden. The wine, milk, butter and delicious bread was a nice touch. 5 days was not long enough!

A beautiful and clean little cottage easily accessible from the M4. The rooms were spotless and the kitchen and bathroom adequately equipped. A lovely quiet break for my wife and I and our rescue dog Daisy.

Rectory Retreat is a beautifully situated cottage with everything we needed for a very relaxing week's holiday. The owners had thought of everything to make it a home from home for us. This is a lovely house in a good location with an enclosed garden. Ideal for exploring the area. The bedroom is fabulous, and the bed super comfy with good quality bedding. We had a lovely few days in this delightful house.

Really enjoyed our stay at Rectory Retreat which is well equipped and very comfortable. A secure garden made taking our young labrador on holiday easy and the location of the property was perfect for easy access to many local walks. We will definitely be booking again.

A very clean, comfortable, quiet, modern cottage in an ideal location for walking our dog. Owners are very friendly and the milk and butter in the fridge and the bread in the bread bin was nice. Very big comfy bed meant that we slept well. The local dog friendly pubs were nice especially the Horseshoe Inn.

Lovely comfortable cottage in a beautiful part of the country. Really central for visiting the Beacons and castles in the area. Also there is a canal within 5 - 10 minutes walk of the cottage, so nice and close for walking the dog, and a good dog friendly pub almost next door.

Nicely situated. Everything you need for your stay. Great base for walks along the canal or driving to other places not too far away. Also the star Inn is just a couple of minutes walk from the property, dog friendly and ideal for food.

Wonderful cottage, we had a lovely stay in April with our dog. The cottage was immaculate, clean and beautifully decorated. The enclosed garden was perfect for our dog and the location was perfect for walks from the cottage along the canal towpath. We will definitely be returning, hopefully in September.

I booked the cottage at the last minute, unfortunately we werent given the key code so had to make various enquiries to find out about access arrangements. The details said there is internet but later found to access it is by going to the owners garden, so we didnt bother. We werent told before booking theres an additional 20 charge for dogs. ThereRead mores only 1 electric heater downstairs and 1 upstairs. The weather was freezing and the downstairs heater broke, due to faulty electrical sockets. Hide
