A pretty semi-detached cottage in a country lane setting is a perfect retreat for families and friends seeking tranquillity and planning to explore the picturesque Shropshire countryside. The property, set over two levels, is only 1 mile from the English and Welsh border. Walkers will love having access to the nearby Ifton Meadows Nature Reserve (3 miles), and the meres at Ellesmere are only 5 miles away.

Step into this characterful property with a large, inviting, open-plan kitchen and living area. The rooms are light and airy, while the country styling blends with contemporary comforts for a memorable stay. Comfortable sofas and a TV mean you are all set for socialising or watching a movie together. A warming wood burner effect fire provides a cosy ambience in cooler weather, making this a great year-round choice. The kitchen has everything you need to rustle up some family favourites, and the wooden dining table is ideal for meals, card games or planning adventures. Downstairs is a twin bedroom with a TV and en-suite wet room. Upstairs, you’ll find two more bedrooms: one double with a TV and en-suite bathroom and a small single suitable for a child. The delightful outdoor space offers garden furniture and a private patio space for evenings, where you can enjoy time together and dine alfresco in fine weather.

Outdoor activities and adventures abound in the local area, so head to Alderford Lake (15 miles) and enjoy the aqua park and a selection of water sports. Kayak or paddleboard down the River Dee at Llangollen (13 miles), or for something more relaxing, hire a canal boat for the day. Authentic market towns such as Oswestry (9 miles) and Whitchurch (16 miles) offer an abundance of shops, eateries, and local pubs where you can dine out on local produce.

Really enjoyed our stay, it was lovely spending Christmas all together, and especially having a hot tub on Christmas day, would definitely recommend.

Had a lovely time away at this cottage - it had everything we needed. 2 adults, 3 kids and a dog. Loved Ellesmere and Ty Mawr country park and eat in the Boathouse and Red Lion in Ellesmere - both highly recommended. Would also highly recommend Woodpecker Cottage - thank you.
