This characterful cottage enjoys a peaceful setting amongst the Herefordshire countryside, 5 miles from Ross-on-Wye. Sleeping four guests, the property suits both small families and friends holidaying together. The surrounding area is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, with walking and cycling routes taking you through the Wye Valley and Forest of Dean. There are also alpaca experiences available on site, by prior arrangement with the owner.
The granary has been sympathetically transformed into a stylish holiday home, carefully combining characterful original features with contemporary decor and design. On the ground floor, you’ll find an open-plan kitchen/diner with fabulous, exposed beams and everything needed for a self-catering break. Congregate here, around the wooden dining table for home-cooked meals after a day of exploring. A step leads down to the spacious lounge, where comfortable seating is set around a TV. When it’s time for bed, climb the stairs to the first floor, taking care to mind your head on the sloping ceiling. On this level, you’ll find two beautiful bedrooms, both with exposed beams and rural views. The family bathroom completes the accommodation. Outside, the open-aspect cottage gardens provide a tranquil spot to unwind, dine alfresco or enjoy a post-dinner tipple.
Ross-on-Wye is a picturesque market town with pastel-coloured houses and historic buildings. As well as regular indoor and outdoor markets, you’ll also find a great range of independent boutiques, galleries, and studios to peruse. Enjoy relaxing strolls along the banks of the River Wye, or hire a canoe or paddleboard and get out on the water. From the cottage, enjoy excursions to the beauty spot of Symonds Yat Rock (6.5 miles) and the fascinating Goodrich Castle (5 miles).
