Close to the beautiful bluebell woods, winding country lanes, and the patchwork fields of mid-Wales, this idyllic riverside cottage offers the perfect escape for families just on the edge of Llanidloes (1 mile). This small market town is a lively holiday destination in scenic Powys, home to charming black-and-white timber-framed buildings, with a selection of pubs, delis, and boutiques to explore. Known as the ‘Gateway to the Cambrian Mountains’, Llanidloes is the perfect base for thrilling mountain hikes, including the impressive walking route, The Cambrian and Severn Ways. Discover the picturesque Llyn Clywedog Reservoir, about 7.5 miles away, where you can take a boat trip or simply enjoy the many viewpoints along its banks. From here, follow the River Severn into the depths of Hafren Forest (9.5 miles), exploring waterfall trails and scenic paths through tree-lined routes. The beauty of the mid-Wales countryside can be admired from this detached holiday home, with large windows and extensive outdoor spaces offering uninterrupted views of the surrounding scenery.

The property is all laid out on a single storey, with cosy nooks and characterful design features throughout, adding lovely, charming touches. Leave coats and shoes in the hall before meandering into the kitchen/diner. With ample counter space and all the necessary appliances, preparing delicious meals is a breeze. An Oak framed archway leads into a lovely lounge area with plenty of seating, a Smart TV, and a wood burner to keep things cosy. When the sun shines, feel free to open the French doors and let the fresh air in. On your way to the bedrooms, be sure to notice the cute library corner with an inviting armchair and a selection of books. Two bedrooms, a king-size (can be made into a twin on request) and a bunk bedroom, both offer river views and share a refreshing shower room. The master bedroom also features patio doors that open onto the enclosed riverside deck, a perfect spot for a sundowner before bed.

Situated right on the Dulas River and Gynwydd Brook, you can enjoy the hum of riverside wildlife and the soothing flow of the water from the large garden or the enclosed decking. Equipped with sun loungers, patio furniture, and a BBQ, you have everything you need to relax, soak up the sunshine, and admire the kingfishers, otters, pine martens, red kites, and much more, all from a comfortable spot.
