This spacious property, just 2 miles from the small coastal town of Laugharne and sleeping eight guests, is an ideal holiday base for families or a group of friends sharing. Charming Laugharne, overlooking the wide River Taf estuary, is famous for its association with the Welsh writer Dylan Thomas, and you can see the little boathouse and shed where he lived and worked. Visit the historic castle standing above the town and enjoy fresh-caught fish in one of the excellent restaurants or traditional Welsh pubs. Pendine (4 miles) has a 7-mile stretch of golden sand, while Amroth (12.5 miles) offers a family-friendly beach, ideal for swimming or windsurfing, and marks the start of the long-distance Pembrokeshire Coast Path, perfect for scenic walks. The National Trust’s Colby Woodland (2.5 miles) is a delight, with meadows, a walled garden, tearoom and family events throughout the summer. Historic Carmarthen (11 miles) is within 13 miles.
The farmhouse is attractively furnished in a country style, with living space to suit everybody. The light and airy ground-floor houses two cosy living rooms, both with comfortable sofas, feature (non-working) wood burners and TVs, perfect for watching a film, playing games or a quiet read. A good-sized dining room features a generous table with chairs and a slate floor that lead into the pretty kitchen. This boasts a splendid AGA-style oven and all the culinary equipment you might need to cook for a party of eight. A cloakroom with a WC completes this floor. Head upstairs to find a family bathroom and four delightful, bright bedrooms with areas of exposed stone enhancing their period character. They comprise three doubles, one of them a splendid sleigh bed, and a twin.
Outside, large gardens to the front, side and rear of the house have countryside views, with attractive outdoor furniture, a patio, BBQ and a separate area for table tennis. The rear garden is enclosed. Guests can also enjoy table football and a pool table in the outhouse. There is plenty of parking for four cars.
