Property code: OC-C30837

An exquisite, Welsh holiday cottage, this character-laden hideaway makes an idyllic base for exploring Bannau Brycheiniog, also known as the Brecon Beacons. Sleeping four guests, the sumptuous, two-bedroom retreat nestles in the village of Trecastle, 3 miles from Sennybridge and 11.5 miles from bustling Brecon. Head straight out from the doorstep to follow footpaths through the scenic surroundings and return to sup a pint of local beer or dine out in the village pub serving home cooked food only 30 metres away. Venture 4.5 miles to the beautiful Usk Reservoir, which is surrounded by the Glasfynnedd Forest and has a 5.5-mile waymarked route along its shores for walking and cycling. Head into Llandovery, 9.5 miles away, to wander its historic streets, potter in its shops and pause for a cup of tea and a fresh Welsh cake in one of its cafes. Visit Brecon to stroll or take a cruise out along the scenic Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal.

Let yourselves into this beautifully refurbished, whitewashed, Welsh cottage that welcomes dogs to discover comfortable accommodation with a stylish finish to complement its original features. Light the wood burner in the inglenook fireplace in the open-plan lounge/diner then sink back into the soft sofas to unwind in its cosy heat. Choose a book from the shelves or settle down in front of the Smart TV to watch a film. There are also DVD and Blu-ray players. Select a board game to set up at the dining table then gather round for an evening of fun. The modern kitchen encompasses all the equipment you will need to help you rustle up delicious dishes to serve up at the table in the lounge/diner as well. At the end of each day of adventure, climb the stairs up to the first floor. Here, you will find the immaculate family bathroom, with its bath and shower, as well as two luxurious bedrooms. These are both king-size but one has zip-and-link beds that can be arranged as singles instead, if discussed in advance, to offer you added flexibility.

Spill outside into the courtyard garden on warm spring and summer days. Cook on the BBQ and savour the fresh air and good company. Parking for this cottage is on the street, subject to availability.
