Cradled beneath the mountains, deep in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park, this sympathetically renovated farmhouse stands on three acres of land and seemingly in the middle of paradise. Set off early down the path that runs directly from the farmhouse and climb Pen y Fan, the highest peak in South Wales. Then slip into the hot tub with a nice, cool bottle of beer and gaze up at your day’s accomplishment.
A reward in nature
Ty Pen y Fan nestles peacefully just outside the village of Libanus and a few miles from the northern starting point of the Taff Trail in the town of Brecon. Its exposed beams and stone walls capture the beautiful ruggedness of its setting. Along with those, it is awash with modern complements and natural light through broad windows and French doors. Deep sofas, whitewashed original walls, and salvaged antiques decorate this hidden gem alongside tastefully chosen mod cons such as a fully-equipped kitchen and wood burners in the sitting room and dining room. Through the French doors in the kitchen, guests can pull the cork on a bottle of wine and step out onto the patio. Surrounded by the awe-inspiring mountains after an al fresco dinner, you may just choose to linger outside a while longer to take in the stars. With all that in mind, it should come as no surprise, perhaps, that Ty Pen y Fan has won the Green Tourism Award as well as the Walkers and Cyclists Award.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
Keeping to its theme of peace and privacy, ty Pen y Fan features en-suite bathrooms with WC in all four bedrooms. The room on the ground floor has a super king-size bed that can be converted into two twin beds. On the first floor is the super king-size master suite. There is also another super-king room on the first floor and a king-size room. Both of these beds can also convertible into twin beds, making Ty Pen y Fan as perfect for group holidays as it is for family gatherings.
We can provide a high chair, stair gate, and travel cot if required. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome and the property is ideal with pets with an enclosed rear garden and kennel. There is secure bicycle storage and plenty of space for parking.
Special Note: Several main supermarkets deliver to the cottage, although there are plenty of shops in the nearby town of Brecon, including a great local butcher.
