The property in which we stayed was amazing, the owners were superb people, very friendly.

Mr J,

Beautiful cottage and lovely welcome, we particularly loved the stone flagged floor and beams. Excellent value for money. The storage heaters keep the cottage really toastie. We would certainly stay again if we were going to mid Wales.

Mrs L,

Beautifully clean and well equipped cottage with lovely, friendly owners. The stream down the field was a welcome find for our dog. The kites flying overhead whilst we were in the hot tub was idyllic too. Highly recommend this lovely cottage set away from the hustle and bustle of life.

Mrs P,

Miss L,

Hafan Llewelyn holiday cottage is set on a scenic 60 acre farm, a short walking distance from the local pub and train station in Cilmery and 2 miles from Builth Wells. Very close to this cottage with hot tub, Wales' last native Prince of direct descent, Llywelyn ap Gruffudd, was slain in a skirmish by soldiers in the service of Edward I of England, on 11 December 1282. A memorial stone to Llywelyn ap Gruffudd was erected on the site in 1956 and serves as the focal point for the annual remembrance day.

The cottage is situated close to the Royal Welsh Showground, the Elan Valley Dams and an excellent 18 hole golf course. Many other activities are catered for locally including canoeing and fishing on the River Wye, mountain biking, horse riding and walking in the Brecon Beacons. There are also numerous good eating places in the vicinity serving local produce.

Builth Wells Golf Club presents a fair challenge to golfers of all levels. It is attractively laid out in splendid surroundings and is a comfortable walk. 2 miles

Horse Riding

There are many interesting bridal paths in the vicinity. There will also be stables on site in the near future, enabling guests to bring their own horses.

Walking & Cycling

This area is a paradise for walkers and cyclists with routes such as the Wye Valley Walk (2 miles), Epynt Way (5 miles), Brecon Beacons National Park (16 miles south) and the Elan Valley (16 miles north).

Water Sports

The river Wye (2 miles) is popular as a navigable river with canoeists. Llangorse Lake, Pontsticill Reservoir (Merthyr Tydfil Sailing Club), the river Usk and the Monmouthshire and Brecon canal also offer opportunities for water sport.
