Relax and admire the wildlife from this comfortable cottage in beautiful Mid Wales when you return from long walks along the border with England. Close to the famous Offa’s Dyke Path, the two-bedroom holiday home nestles in Dutlas in the Teme Valle, 6.5 miles from Knighton and right on the fringes of the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. With a superb balcony for relaxing on and taking in the splendid views, the property, which sleeps four guests, has a wildlife and wildflower meadow garden, which is bordered by a river.
Make your way inside the cottage at ground-floor level and head straight through to the sun room on fine days. Here you can pull open the doors to the glass-fronted balcony and relax with a cup of tea after your latest adventure. When the weather is chillier, settle in the lounge instead. Here you can light the wood burner and unwind in its cosy glow in front of your favourite programme on TV. Take turns at preparing meals in the well-equipped kitchen and dine outside on the balcony when the sun is out. When eyelids begin to droop, make your way upstairs to the double bedroom or the twin, both of which enjoy rural views. The family bathroom is also up here. Follow the steps down to the very natural garden. Dine out here in the fresh air and wander down to the river, keeping an eye on children and pets, to see if you can spot otters or kingfishers. There is private parking at the property.
Venture into Knighton to wander round the charming town, buy fresh Welsh produce and dine out. Follow the scenic Heart of Wales Railway Line Trail from the town: this runs for over 140 miles through picturesque Welsh and English borderland countryside.
