Cothi View, originally a stable on the Edwinsford Estate and set in a group of similar properties, has been converted to a peaceful dog-friendly cottage, just north of the village of Talley in the beautiful Carmarthenshire countryside, about 10 miles north of Llandeilo and 13 miles west of Llandovery. With an aura of timelessness and quality, in bygone days Edwinsford was a grand country estate with an abundance of wildlife. There are excellent walks from the door and fishing on the River Cothi, which runs to the front of the property, but is rarely visible through the trees!

To the ground floor of this substantial stone cottage is a sitting room with exposed oak beams, an electric flame-effect stove in the large stone fireplace, TV (Sky basic channels), comfortable leather suite and a fireside chair and a large selection of DVDs, broad interest magazines and books. The dining kitchen has table and chairs, electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and a door to the rear patio. To the first floor, the cottage has three bedrooms, a spacious double, a twin and a single. The family bathroom is newly fitted (2016), with a mixer shower over the bath, WC and basin. WiFi is available in the cottage. Outside, there is a narrow gated driveway to the side of the property, and an enclosed, gravelled patio to the rear with garden furniture. The patio is secure for pets and up to three dogs are welcome at the cottage. There is swingball on the terrace and to the front of the property, across the shared access driveway, is a pretty, lawned garden area, with mature trees and shrubs and bench. This is quite private at this end, but shared with the adjacent property and not enclosed.

This is a very picturesque area of Carmarthenshire. The attractive market town of Llandeilo has lovely boutique and homeware shops, antiques, art galleries, cafes, restaurants, a weekly market, Post Office, banks and Ginhaus Deli - serving and selling wonderful food, bread, cheeses and an excellent selection of Gins! The former monastery of Talley Abbey is about a mile away from the cottage and its ruins are an excellent spot for walking and photography enthusiasts. National Trust’s Newton House, a grade II listed country house on the Dinefwr Estate, about a mile to the west of Llandeilo, is well worth a visit to see the famous White Park cattle and wild deer. Nearby are Carreg Cennen Castle and Llandovery with its castle ruins. The impressive Aberglasney Gardens, with tea rooms, is about 12 miles away. The area also has a number of annual events and festivals, Jazz, Jive and Blues, and in September, an internationally renowned Sheep Festival! Or you may simply prefer to enjoy the lovely local walks, peaceful countryside, mountain biking in Brechfa Forest, or fishing on the River Cothi, just 200 metres from the cottage (Please contact us for details).
