Description

Enjoying lovely rural views over farmland and hills, this semi-detached stone cottage, providing comfortable accommodation for a couple or small family and dogs, is situated on the owners' farmyard at Cynghordy, about 5 miles north east of Llandovery, just beyond the north western edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Stabal has a double and a twin bedroom on the first floor, with attractive beamed ceilings (sloping to the sides of each room, but with good headroom). The bath/shower room is on the ground floor, with separate WC adjacent. The living room is open-plan, with tiled flooring, two leather sofas, open fire in cast iron fireplace (logs supplied) Freeview TV/DVD player, pine dining table and chairs and a compact kitchen area with electric oven and hob, microwave and fridge. A separate utility room has a freezer, washing machine, boiler for the oil-fired central heating and rear door to the enclosde garden, shared with the adjacent cottage; each cottage has its own picnic bench and barbecue. Bike storage can be provided on site, and guests have access to surrounding fields for exercising dogs and children.

This is an excellent location for country lovers, with walking and mountain biking trails in nearby Crychan Forest, as well as Brechfa Forest and the Brecon Beacons as short drive away. There are Red Kite Feeding Stations at Llandeusant, 12 miles south and in the market town of Rhayader, 28 miles to the north, the gateway the picturesque Elan Valley. The National Botanic Gardens, Aberglasney Gardens, National Trust's Dolaucothi Gold Mines and Dinefwr Park, as well as a number of interesting castles and the Cathedral town of Brecon are all within reasonable and picturesque driving distance.
