Description
Ysgubor Helyg is a recent, quirky conversion of a traditional stone barn, semi-detached to the owners’ farmhouse on a quiet rural no-through lane in the hills between Llanfair Caereinion (6.5 miles) and Carno (8 miles), 10 miles north of Caersws. This is a peaceful location for those wishing to walk and drive the beautiful Mid Wales countryside.
The cottage benefits from oil-fired central heating (combi-boiler), with water from a private spring (tested and passed as safe for drinking); WiFi is also available in some rooms

Sitting Room: with comfortable sofa, two armchairs, day bed (for alternative accommodation, one or two guests), large flat screen Smart TV/Sky free channels, digital radio with Bluetooth; two steep steps down provide access to the two small ground floor bedrooms:
Bedroom 2: with bunk beds, wardrobe/drawer unit, Velux window, built-in bench seat
Bedroom 3: compact room with a single bed, bedside drawers, built-in desk unit; please note this room has just one very small window with inset vent, high up, for ventilation

First Floor:
Bedroom 1: with zip and link super king size bed (can be made up as twin on request), wardrobe, dressing table, digital radio with Bluetooth; the staircase rises from the dining room direct into this bedroom; pull-out bed available for additional sleeping accommodation
En Suite: bath with electric shower over, WC, basin, heated towel rail, extractor fan
Outside/Parking: there is a gravelled area to the front of the cottage for parking and with garden furniture for sitting out overlooking the fields and hill behind the property
Ysgubor Helyg is just outside the hamlet of Cefn Coch. Tregynon, 6 miles away, has a village shop and petrol station. Llanfair Caereinion, 6.5 miles, is an attractive market town with a range of shops, pubs and other facilities, and the Welshpool – Llanfair Caereinion steam railway line. The picturesque former county-town of Montgomery, with its spectacular castle ruins, local museum, cafes, restaurants and Monty’s Brewery Visitor Centre is 16 miles away. It is around 20-25 miles to the southern edges of the Snowdonia National Park, including the ancient market town of Machynlleth and the picturesque Mallwyd with the historic Brigands Inn pub. This is an excellent location for walking and for escaping the hustle and bustle of modern life.
