So peaceful and quiet. Thank you to the owners for a truly magical week! We have been so relaxed and happy here, the views are breathtaking and such a beautiful part of the world. We loved the adorable sheep, bunnies, and the birds of prey were great to watch from the cottage. This is the best cottage we have ever stayed in. The owners catered for our every need, and we were very grateful for the lovely extra touches. The fire every evening made the cottage so cosy, such a special cottage. We will definitely be back. We loved the history of the place and the beds were so comfortable 10/10. Rain or sun the views were stunning. The owners have been so welcoming and kind. Perfect holiday in every way!

Previous Customer,

Paradise found, a wonderful cottage, beautiful surroundings, and lovely hosts. The very best that Best Of Wales can offer. We've had a great time here, would like to stay much longer, I'm sure we will be back.

Previous Customer,

Thank you for sharing this beautiful place with us. “Wow” simply just doesn’t cover it . What a beautiful cottage in stunning surroundings! The views are simply breathtaking. We packed so much stuff that we simply didn’t need - everything was provided for. Truly a ‘home away from home’. Our time here was short but very very sweet and we have thoroughly enjoyed our time here. I’m sure we’ll be back - Thank you!

The H,

Thank you for a wonderful week here at the cottage. Your hospitality has been more than we would have ever expected and we are very grateful. The beautiful and thoughtful touches in the cottage have made us feel very comfortable and relaxed. Our girls have also had a fabulous time and by far our most enjoyable moment of all was meeting your family and the little lambs and learning about the farm. It really was once in a lifetime moment which we will never forget. We came for peace, and we will be going away with that and much more. Thank you again

Previous Customer,

Beautiful place, fantastic views, everything you need for peace and quiet. We will definitely be back in the summer. All 3 children absolutely loved it here and we are very sad to leave! 5 stars all the way! Best cottage we have ever stayed in. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful place.

Ms Laura C,

5 Stars. Wow what a wonderful, magical place and a wonderful, kind and thoughtful family. This cottage is perfect for a quiet getaway from normal life. My family and I enjoyed every single moment of our Christmas holiday. We will return again.

Previous Customer,

We have had such a fantastic time at Foel Fach. The views are breathtaking, and the cottage is beautiful. We felt so welcomed by Sue and Edward, whose hospitality was excellent. They really thought of everything! We shall miss this place very much- especially the cosy evenings in front of the fire! Thank you Sue and Edward - we hope to visit again in the future.

Couple from S,

5 Star Property! Everything about this cottage is beautiful, the furnishing, the bedding, the layout, the finishing touches, perfect. We felt at home and we all slept so well. We enjoyed our dinners and films next to the fires. The view was utterly amazing. We enjoyed days out in the beautiful countryside. We visited Lake Vyrnwy, absolutely stunning, Harlech Castle and Portmeirion, all a must. Our children loved every minute and so did we. The hosts, Edward and Sue, were SO welcoming and have thought of everything when you holiday here.

Previous Customer,

Foel Fach cottage is a lovely cottage in a beautiful location. Very peaceful with lovely views over the countryside. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and highly recommend this property if you want to get away from it all.

Helena from C,

A very last minute booking bought us to this wonderful home and the delightful welcome from Sue and Edward who have made our stay so warm ( along with the weather- who would imagine having lunches outside in October in Mid-Wales!!) and comfortable. Thank you for all the provisions. This spot is so special, the peace and quiet, the views, and the sense that Sue & Edward really want their guests to have an amazing time with all the lovely 'extras', like the chocolates. Thank you so much for your warm welcome and for sharing 'Foelfach' with us . It really is 5 star

Previous Customer,

Having arrived in the teeth of storm Callum and having been told by Edward on our arrival that there had recently been a power cut, we were slightly worried when Edward handed us a few torches " just incase" ! We needn't have worried - the weather improved so much during the week that by Thursday we were spending most of the day sunbathing outside and enjoying the truly spectacular views. What a fantastic location for a holiday cottage. You really couldn't wish for a better place to unwind and enjoy the peace and quiet. The sheep, the rabbits, the pheasants, even the ladybirds all added to the experience! Thank you Edward and Sue for letting us stay at your wonderful cottage

The Smith F,

We couldn’t possibly have asked for more from our stay at Foelfach. Even during our short stay here we have been able to enjoy drizzly evenings by the fireside as well as sunbathing on the patio during the day! Everything from the arresting views to the luxurious touches have made this the invigorating yet restorative break that we were dreaming of. The cottage felt like home the moment we walked in the door. We will be back as soon as possible to visit this enchanting place again. Thank you so very much for making this a memorable, unrivaled holiday

Previous Customer,

This is a fabulous 5 star property come rain or shine. The owners deserve all the plaudits they have received in their Visitors Book - they are very special welcoming people. An exceptional property, which met all our needs and "home from home" comforts. Even in bad weather it was a delight to stay in Foel Fach. Excellent service from Best of Wales and any queries or concerns were dealt with promptly.

Eve from K,

Thank you Edward and Sue for providing us with the opportunity of enjoying a most delightful, relaxing and invigorating week. We were overwhelmed by its beauty, its grandeur and its peace. We acquainted ourselves with sections of Glyndwr's Way, and coped with vagaries of the local bus time table. Soaked up the splendour of the landscape and kept an eye on the birds and the sheep!

Mr G J,

Sue & Edward’s hospitality went way beyond any other holiday cottage that we have stayed in before. This is a truly lovely cottage in a beautiful environment! We look forward to returning ! Thank you both!

Previous Customer,

This cottage is gorgeous, I can't imagine anything more perfect! The views are breathtaking and beyond fabulous. I loved seeing the sheep on the fields in front of us. The baked goodies were all totally delicious. We have stayed in many places in this world but nothing can measure up to this place! Thank you so much Edward & Sue.

Previous Customer,

Beautiful isolated welsh cottage, stunning views and friendly sheep.

Mr Nathan A,

The cottage is amazing and the view is stunning! Edward & Sue have a beautiful cottage here. The attention to detail is perfect and you have made our stay a wonderful experience. We’ll miss the sheep in the morning! Thank you so much Amy & Nathan

An amazing place. Beautiful, natural surroundings. On top of the world. We all loved it here. Everything we needed was catered for. Thank you for the extra touches, cake, chocolate and information books etc. We will be back....

Previous Customer,

We loved this little cottage and we would love to return, I loved all the photos that you provided on your website that was why I chose this property because you can see exactly what you are getting. Every thing was excellent, well done to your company. I have found Best of Wales to be an excellent company to do business with. This property is the best we have stayed in, the owners were brilliant, nothing was too much trouble, they waited around for us to arrive as we were held up in traffic, then there was the little personal touches in the cottage toiletries, chocolates. wine, it was like a 5* hotel.

Alison from S,

What a fantastic place! We have loved Foel Fach cottage. The views are so spectacular and so very peaceful. The cottage is very well equipped with everything you could possibly need. We loved all the toiletries, chocolate etc. We have had some lovely days out and the weather has been fantastic all week. We couldn't have wished for a better place to stay and will hopefully be back one day. We can not thank Edward and Sue enough for their kindness.

Previous Customer,

As we drove away from Foel Fach, we decided that we could not have found a better place to stay. We were warmly welcomed upon our arrival and given a tour of the property. The essentials were provided including some welcoming items such as half a dozen eggs and some cheese. The location is spectacular with a view that is out of this world. Foel Fach is close to all the places that we were interested in including Snowdonia National Park and the beautiful scenery of Montgomeryshire. If you want a quiet holiday in Mid Wales, with ready access to Mid and North Wales, you could not do any better than Foel Fach. Thank you Edward and Sue.

Previous Customer,

We are so glad to have found Foelfach through the Best of Wales website. It is one of the few places that we have stayed in that is even better in reality then it was advertised ! We were very lucky to have beautiful weather while we were here and that let us enjoy the spectacular scenery. I think I could sit on the patio for hours just enjoying the vista. The cottage is superbly equipped and we did not want for anything in the way of housewares etc. I have no hesitation in recommending Foelfach to friends and family

Previous Customer,

This beautiful house meant so much to us! I loved sleeping in the relaxing bed that you prepared so nicely! We mostly stayed here, but on some occasions we went to see the waterfalls, lakes and mountains! Yummy cake that we demolished! Already looking forward to our next stay!

Previous Customer,

Thank you for your warm welcome. It feels so much like coming home! Everything is perfect! We have seen misty days, wet days and very sunny days! Each has their own allure. Sue , Edward & girls are a delightful family, who relish sharing their wonderful cottage with their lucky guests! The special touches really did make our visit magical! I even had a birthday cake and a card to welcome me! How lucky was I

Mandy & H,

Beautiful cottage, a view to die for, beautiful interior, very clean and tidy, very sympathetic and hospitable owners, definitely a place to visit again....

Cornelis from N,

If I had to describe this lovely cottage it would be that it is THE BEST OF the Best of Wales' portfolio!! The cottage (Foel Fach) was really beautiful and the owners were lovely. The weather was incredible (May Day bank holiday weekend) and the area of Mid Wales really scenic and a perfect base for accessing southern Snowdonia - we came to Wales to climb Cadair Idris which was fab.

Helen from O,

We have loved the tranquillity of Foelfach with the beautiful welsh countryside laid out before us and changing with each day as it dresses with spring leaves. Thank you Edward & Sue for opening the doors of your lovely cottage to us... We have enjoyed the sunshine and adventure of the time we have spent here. Foel Fach is a special place!

Lovely, peaceful, scenic property.

Jane from H,

Had a lovely few days here at Foelfach. Beautiful warm sunshine. Coffee and wine (depending on the time of day!!) on the patio, taking in the beautiful surroundings. A lovely warm, comfortable cottage with lots of special touches. Managed to take a photo of the Airbus A 400m, as the location of the cottage is on the hillside, at the start / exit of the Machynlleth loop. Fantastic variety of wildlife including a sighting of a Goshawk. Kites are quite common, as are Buzzards. We look forward to a return visit

Previous Customer,

This is a wonderfully characterful and comfortable property with great views, in lovely countryside, fairly easy to get to but with a feeling of real remoteness. The property has been very sympathetically modernised and the great care and attention of the friendly farming family who own it is evident. Enjoy the peace and quiet and walks from the door.

David from K,

Foelfach is a great place. An unseasonably cold spring, but great to get back to the cottage and warm ourselves by the fire. The variety of landscape here is stunning. Hills, Marsh Forests, farmland and a car journey away to sea cliffs, estuary and beaches! The sight of woodpeckers flying out of the misty trees was pretty surreal, not to mention a brief glimpse of an albino Chaffinch. Thanks Edward and Sue, we really enjoyed our stay

Previous Customer,

We have had a lovely time here. The cottage has everything that we could possibly have needed, and very comfortable too. We enjoyed the easter decorations and treats. In a week of mixed weather ( snow, wet and dry, cold and some real warmth), we had marvellous walks from the cottage and two long loops taking in the Glaslyn Reserve each time. Aberdovey provided a welcome break from the walking. We thank Edward and Sue (and the girls) for their kindness and all the care and attention that they have given and give to the cottage. It's a great place!

David and J,

Thank you so much for a wonderful stay! The views are breath taking, the cottage so lovely and cosy. A home from home. We are looking forward to coming back in the summer!

Previous Customer,

Edward & Sue were perfect hosts, supplying us with mince pies, cake, chocolates, cava and a glowing fire on our arrival. It exceeded our expectations and added a lovely personal touch. We were lucky enough to see a magical dusting of snow on arrival. The views from the cottage are beautiful and is amazing to watch the ever changing landscape. Our stay was a Christmas / New Year to remember.

Previous Customer,

We had a fabulous stay at Foel Fach cottage over the New Year! Hosts Sue and Edward were perfect in every way, and the wonderful homemade delights (mince pies and fruit cake), divine, thanks! Equipped with everything you could possibly need, the cottage is set in the most amazing location with the ever changing landscape providing more entertainment than any electrical device possibly could (although there is TV/Freeview/DVD/Games/Wifi Internet for after dark if required!) :) Would recommend!

Previous Customer,

What a stunning place! Valleys and glens below the cottage, and beautiful ever changing sky. Sue and Edward mastered the art of hospitality, with the warmth of welcoming gestures! Foelfach is truly a unique place. Thank you so much for fantastic memories, that we will reflect on. We had a magical Christmas. We will definitely be back hopefully in the summer.

David & A,

A beautiful cottage with stunning views. We enjoyed watching the sheep roaming in the fields and quiet evenings spent listening to the owls. Certainly the prettiest views in our longish lives (age 74 & 79) that myself and husband have enjoyed. All cottage facilities were all thought out and delightfully quirky. Pure delight. Many Thanks William & Harriet ( Rural Somerset)
