Bank House is an impressive Georgian town house in Meifod, formerly a bank – with interesting architectural features such as the former strong room, Georgian shelving for ledgers etc, as well as fireplaces, beams, dark oak wooden floorboards, sweeping staircases and spacious landings – now converted into a three-story residence with six bedrooms and three reception rooms. There is off-road parking and a good sized enclosed rear garden with views to the hills beyond. This is an ideal property for a family get-together, holiday or celebration, in rural Mid Wales with easy access from Cheshire, Shropshire and the Midlands and within an hour’s drive of the South Snowdonia National Park.
The house benefits from central heating throughout, stoves, WiFi, games console and several TVs. Meifod is a flourishing village with shop and Post Office, pubs and good community spirit. It sits in the Vyrnwy Valley, with the River Banwy close by and Lake Vyrnwy around 15 miles to the West. The market towns of Welshpool (7 miles) and Llanfair Caereinion (8 miles) are both within easy reach, with the Welshpool – Llanfair Light Railway running along the Banwy valley between the two. There are lovely walks in the area and some interesting wildlife.

Beautiful property in lovely location with very friendly locals. The owner was really friendly & the property is very well equipped with top of the range furniture etc. Plenty to do in the area and wonderful food at all the local places. We couldn't have enjoyed our holiday more & being from London it was a joy to drive on empty roads.
A lovely characterful house, bigger than expected with lots of space to be together or to have quiet time apart if needed. The house was clean and well kitted out in terms of quality and little extra touches. We had a very easy, comfy, relaxed and special family break. Would highly recommend.
