Description

The Old Stables is a single-storey cottage tucked away behind the shops in the centre of Rhayader, providing comfortable accommodation for a couple, with all the facilities of this historic Mid Wales town within easy walking distance and yet within a few minutes' drive of the picturesque scenery of the Elan Valley and Radnorshire hills.

The attractive stone cottage, with gas-fired central heating throughout, comprises:

Entrance Porch: with storage space for coats and boots.

Living Room: open-plan, with sofa and armchair, gas fire, flat screen Freeview TVThe living room is well furnished and equipped with a sofa and armchair, gas fire, Freeview TV and video player, WiFi, piano, dining table and chairs, sliding patio doors to the courtyard. Just off the dining area is a compact, galley-style fitted kitchen.

Kitchen: with electric cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave and washing machine.

Bedroom: with double bed and pine bedroom furniture.

Bathroom: bath with shower over, WC and basin in vanity unit.

Outside: courtyard area to the front, with garden bench, and guests also have shared use of the owners’ beautifully planted, lawned garden - a lovely haven in the centre of town!

Parking: Outside the cottage is parking and turning space for one car, but access is difficult, through a long, narrow (8’) passageway off the main shopping street. Guests may prefer to unload on the main street and then use nearby free parking places.

This is an ideal location for lovers of the countryside; Rhayader is known as the gateway to the Elan Valley, with its wonderful forests, mountains, rivers and reservoirs. Red Kites fly over the town, and the Red Kite feeding station is nearby. Plenty of excellent walking in the area, as well as cycling and mountain biking; bike hire shop just a few hundred metres from the cottage.
