This attractive, detached cottage stands adjacent to the owner's farmhouse in an elevated position, one mile north of Welshpool, with lovely views over the surrounding countryside. The house has been renovated to a high standard, retaining some stone walling and beamed ceilings.
The cottage has bedrooms and bathroom on the ground floor, so that the living room and kitchen diner can take advantage of the lovely views from the first floor. There are three comfortable bedrooms (two twins and a double), each with a washbasin, and a bathroom with large rainhead shower over the bath. A wooden staircase leads up to the sitting room, with window seat in the bay window, comfortable seating, electric fire, TV, video, CD/DVD and Wi-Fi. The spacious kitchen/diner includes a dishwasher. These rooms boast high-beamed ceilings and beautiful wooden floors. The cottage has full oil-fired central heating, and guests have use of washing machine & freezer in shared utility adjacent.
Shared grounds, with lawned garden area with picnic benches, quite private, barbecue and summer house. Guests also have access to 21 acres of surrounding fields. A 20-30 minute stroll along the canal brings you to Welshpool, which has a good leisure centre, some interesting shops, Powis Castle (NT), and the Welshpool-Llanfair Caereinion Light Railway. The historic town of Montgomery is nearby, with its ruined castle. Excellent walking in the area, including Offa's Dyke and the Severn Way.
Electricity and heating included.
Bed linen provided; towels available on request.
Highchair available by arrangement.
No smoking please.
Wonderful area for walking and history. Friendly hosts and local people.
What a week to pick - an ex hurricane (Helene) then two autumn storms Ali and Bronagh with lots of heavy rain in between! Nevertheless, we made the best of it, enjoying a good rest with trips to Powis and on the W-L Railway too. Thank you for milk, jam and wine. Not too far to come so we will be back.
Thank you for letting us stay here, it's absolutely lovely. We walked into Welshpool several times along the canal and also walked to Powys Castle too. What a wonderful castle to visit and the gardens are stunning too. We would like to come back and stay again as it's a beautiful place. Our 3 boys have really enjoyed themselves too.
Had a great time, as always do, and look forward to coming again very soon! This time we hope to give you more than 24 hours notice! Thank you.
Fabulous property with stunning views
