A charming mid-terrace cottage in the small village of Carrog surrounded by stunning countryside and gorgeous views, this family- and pet-friendly home makes a wonderful base for enjoying nearby attractions and the great outdoors. It has outside space and is close to the village pub, with the River Dee and the Llangollen Heritage railway line nearby too.

This traditional cottage is comfy and cosy with lovely original features. Cuddle up in the cosy sitting room with a flame effect stove, wooden beams, Freeview TV/DVD player and a dining table for getting together at mealtimes. Prepare delicious meals and snacks in the kitchen and enjoy them at the dining table or outside on the patio through the back door if the weather’s nice. Upstairs are the two sweet bedrooms, a double and a bunk room with full-size bunk beds, and the family shower room. Outside there’s a large patio, somewhere to sit in the sunshine with a glass of something chilled at the end of a fun day.

Being located in the beautiful Clwydian Range and Dee Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), there are stunning walking routes close to the cottage and the Clwydian Way passes right by the door. Wander across the road to the pub and beer garden just metres away, stroll down to the river and pretty stone bridge, and go for a ride on the steam train from Carrog station. Pop to Corwen (2 miles away) for more pubs, shops, and cafes. Llangollen (8 miles) is home to many wonderful attractions, including the canal museum and Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, a UNESCO World Heritage site. For more hikes and beautiful mountains head to Snowdonia National Park (19 miles).

Lovely cosy cottage. Clean, well equipped and suited the four of us just fine. The pub (The Grouse) across the road was fantastic. Great beer and excellent pub grub. Plenty of walks from the door, up mountains or along the river.

We had a relaxing time at Dee Mount enjoying all the views and even managed a few drinks in the sunshine on the terrace. Spent the evenings soaking up the riverside views from the Grouse Inn and enjoyed their friendly hospitality. Walked much of the beautiful Dee Valley (excellent walk book from the tourist info.,) including from the Ponderosa caf Read moreon the Horseshoe Pass stunning views and the heather in bloom! Follow path behind the car park for amazing views too. The Steam Railway is brilliant, gentle and relaxing, as is a horse drawn canal barge from Llangollen. Nice pints at the Sun Inn, Rhewl and Sun Trevor along canal. Reason for visit was the Golf Open at o Hoylake, and we are so glad that this led us to our wonderful stay at Carrog exploring somewhere new. Hide
