Offa's Dyke National Trail is literally on the doorstep, whilst 'One Planet Adventure' Mountain Biking Centre at Llandegla Forest is just 3 miles.
Central to the market town of Ruthin, the canal town of Llangollen, as well as Snowdonia National Park, the walled Roman city of Chester and the North Wales coast. An excellent base to explore North Wales and beyond.

This semi-detached cottage enjoys a peaceful setting with countryside views near Llandegla, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in North Wales. One of two beautiful holiday cottages on site, along with the owners' house, Ty Buddug enjoys its own private corner at the far end of the yard, overlooking farm land. The cottage also benefits from being 0.25 of a mile from Offa's Dyke - one of Wales' three National Trails. There are other hidden treasures on the doorstep as well, including caves on the owners' farm land and Tomen y Rhodwydd, the best preserved mottee and bailey in Britain (2 miles).
Within 1.5 mile, the village of Llandegla has 2 shops, a cafe and The Crown pub/restaurant. Slightly further, Llandegla Forest (3 miles) is home to One Planet Adventure with excellent mountain biking facilities and a visitor centre, whilst Llandegla Laser Combat (4.4 miles) is another fun day out on the doorstep. In addition to The Crown and village cafe, some of the other recommended places to eat nearby includes The Raven in Llanarmon-yn-Ial (3 miles) and The Three Pigeons (4 miles) and On the Hill Restaurant in Ruthin (8 miles).
The market town of Ruthin (spelt Rhuthun in Welsh) is a lovely Welsh town with plenty of interesting shops, cafes, restaurants and a Tesco supermarket. Your cottage is also central to the beautiful canal town of Llangollen (8.5 miles), Wrexham (12 miles), the historical city of Chester (23 miles), Snowdonia National Park (22 miles) and the wonderful Welsh coast (27 miles). With a wide range of attractions and many historic Welsh market towns dotted around you this really is a great base to explore North Wales and beyond.

Clwydian Range (Welsh: Bryniau Clwyd) Trails - Llandegla is also the southern gateway to the Clwydian Range, a series of hills and mountains that runs all the way to Prestatyn on the North Wales coast. Look out for Iron Age hill forts such as Penycloddau and Moel Arthur along these walks as well.
Family walks at the nearby Loggerheads Country Park. 8 miles
