Exceptional quality cottage, visited many cottages over the last 12 months and this is by best the best standard. Nearby walks and facilities very easily accessible and most places very dog friendly. We arrived late due and we’re still welcomed by the lovely people who own the cottage who can not do enough to make your stay such a great experience. We will definitely return.

mr C,

The cottage is the old local forge and adjoins what was once the main farmhouse. It is on the main road through the small village of Brechfa that includes a pub and a community shop. Brechfa is a mecca for mountain bikers and offers superb views along several tracks and trails. The trails include Gorlech Trail, designed by Rowan Sorrell, Raven Trail and the Derwen Trail. These trails offer a great mix of black graded runs and also some trails great for novices and even families. In addition to cycling, there are many walks and also great salmon and sewin fishing on the Towy and its tributaries, including the Cothi that runs down the valley opposite the cottage.

Nearby, there are many attractions including the National Botanic Gardens , Dinefwr Park and Aberglasney House and Gardens. Carreg Cennen Castle is about 20 miles away and well worth a visit. This imposing castle stands on a hill top and can be seen from miles around. There are several restaurants nearby, including the award winning Y Polyn and Ty Mawr.

The market town of Carmarthen is only 12 miles away and there are many shops and leisure facilities here, including a cinema. Also nearby are Ffos Las Racecourse, Folly Farm, Gwili Steam Railway, Oakwood and the Blue Lagoon Water Park which means there is plenty to see and do, whatever the weather. Tenby is also worth a visit and is 40 miles away. There are also many closer beaches including Pembrey, Llansteffan and Pendine.
