Description

A quaint holiday cottage for 2 superbly located between Solva and St Davids on the north Pembrokeshire coast. Just a short walk to join up with the Pembrokeshire coastal path, this pet-friendly Solva holiday cottage has been stylishly renovated and is very comfortable for 2 people. Relax amongst the local shops, galleries and restaurants, take a boat trip or enjoy popular local activities such as walking, sailing and fishing.

Ground Floor

This Solva holiday cottage for 2 has a fully equipped kitchen including split-level cooker, gas hob and electric oven, microwave, fridge and automatic washing machine. Freezer space is also available.

Dining area with dining table and 4 chairs.

Bathroom has a full suite and telephone shower over bath.

Upstairs

Cosy bedroom with king sized bed and living room upstairs with sloping pine cladded ceilings. Living room includes a corner sofa, TV, DVD player and DAB radio.

Please note: this cottage is dog friendly but dogs must be kept downstairs at all times

 

Garden

The south facing patio with garden furniture has sea views over farmland and opens onto a large grassed field. A large shared lawn area with a gate is ideal for children to play in and walk dogs (please ensure that dogs are supervised and on a lead at all times)

Location

 

Nestled in between Solva and St Davids, the famous Pembrokeshire Coastal path is only a short walk away from this Solva holiday cottage, via Porth-y-Rhaw.

Solva (just 1 mile from this beautiful cottage for 2) is known as the jewel of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and is situated on the beautiful West Wales coast. An ideal location for walking, sailing, fishing or simply relaxing amongst the shops, galleries and restaurants set in beautiful scenery. For such a small village Solva has quite a few places to eat and drink and many of these establishments specialise in fresh local seafood dishes. You will find several local pubs providing great food and atmosphere, there is also a local shop that includes a post office, newsagent and many holiday items such as fishing tackle and beach items.

From your Solva holiday cottage, walk the coastal path for 1 mile to Solva harbour where you can catch purchase some fresh fish for a nice BBQ. Quay jumping is a favourite past time of local children, as is crab fishing. Sailboat and water activity courses can also be booked from the quay.

St Davids (2 miles) is a beautiful and unique city surrounded by some of the finest coastline in Europe. Situated within the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, St Davids is renowned for its beauty and abundance of wildlife. St Davids Cathedral has been the dominant presence since the 12th century and was a popular pilgrimage destination throughout the Middle Ages and indeed remains so to this day attracting thousands of visitors every year. Adjacent to the cathedral stand the magnificent ruins of the medieval Bishops Palace. The city of St Davids has a great deal to offer every visitor.

Beaches

Caerfai Bay – The closest sandy beach to this Solva holiday cottage. Caerfai is a lovely sandy beach perfect for families. Its position provides shelter from the prevailing winds. 3.0 miles

Newgale - It's a magnificent two mile long stretch of wide flat sand with a huge pebble bank behind it. Powerful swells roll in here at all times of the year. 3.8 miles

Whitesands - The blue-flagged Whitesands Bay is a popular family beach because of its safe swimming and clean white sand. It is also regarded as one of Wales’ top surf-spots.4.1 miles

Walking

Whether you’re after a gentle stroll down into Solva or a week-long hike it’s right on your doorstep, and a watering hole to quench your thirst is never far away. Pembrokeshire Coastal Path 0.25 miles.

Fishing

Only a short walk from this cosy cottage for 2, there are many coves and rocky marks that provide superb Sea fishing, including some of the best Bass fishing in the UK. 0.25 miles. Fishing, wildlife and Sightseeing boat trips 2.5 miles

Golf

Only 2 miles from the cottage, St David's City is one of three distinctive nine-hole gems that exist along the twenty-mile stretch of the North Pembrokeshire coast. 2miles

Cycling

National Cycle Route 4 (or NCR 4) is only a ¼ of a mile from your Solva holiday cottage and actually runs from Fishguard all the way to London. Mainly on quiet country roads. 0.25 miles. For off road cycling Llys-Y-Fran is a large country park just outside Haverfordwest. 25 miles

Pony trekking

St Davids Trekking provides horse riding in the St Davids area on a Gypsy Vanner, passing through valleys and meadows for a paddle in the sea or a splash in the river. 3.4 miles
