This detached coastal cottage is located in Llanaber, 1 mile from Barmouth on the North Wales coast and just a 5 minute walk to an amazing blue flag beach. Conveniently close to Barmouth (shops, restaurants etc), the cottage also benefits from having one foot in the countryside, with walks leading to the hills from the doorstep.
And then you have Mawddach Way, including the beautiful Barmouth Bridge crossing that can be joined 1 mile away. It has been said that there is "no better walk than from Barmouth through to Dolgellau other than from Dolgellau to Barmouth". The views of the Snowdonia mountains sweeping down to the Mawddach estuary are phenomenal, an experience not to be missed, especially at sunset.
10 miles north along the coast is the picturesque village of Harlech with its nationally and internationally renowned golf course in a breathtaking setting, dominated by the brooding presence of Harlech Castle. For keen mountain bikers, the world renowned Coed y Brenin mountain biking centre is also within 10 miles.
The ferry crossing from Barmouth to Fairbourne and the steam train at Fairbourne offers another great day out, just minutes from Taicroesion cottage. If you have time, the Italian village of Portmeirion is also worth a visit and with Snowdonia National Park being so close, a walk to the top of Snowdon could well be on the cards.

Wonderful place to stay if you want a traditional old welsh cottage with most of the new conveniences. However no wifi. Great location for walking to beach and into Barmouth. Would stay there again.Mrs Janet Mason - 8th October 2018
Taicroesion is a fantastic farmhouse with loads of room located far enough away from the hub-bub of Barmouth to be peaceful yet close enough to be able to walk or cycle into the town. The local beach is awesome and much quieter than the main strip at Barmouth. We enjoyed cycling the Mawdoch trail to Dolgellau, cakes at TH Roberts in Dolgellau (don't miss it), whitewater rafting and canyoning at Bala and of course climbing Cader Idris (but strongly recommend the Pony path rather than the Minfford path). Do try Y Meirrionydd in Dolgellau and Bank in Barmouth for dinner. Llewela was a lovely hostess. Mr Rod Hafner - 21st August 2018
The cottage ran in an efficient and friendly wayMr Andrew Moran - 7th August 2018
We found the property to be warm, inviting and full of character. We know the local area well having visited Barmouth many times over the years, but this was our first time at this wonderful old cottage, would highly recommend it for a tranquil family holiday.Enid from Derbyshire - 23rd April 2018
Wonderful property in an ideal location
We enjoyed visiting the small restaurants in town (Barmouth)Lisa from Essex - 25th July 2017
The property was really beautiful and a home from home. Your service is 5 star, an exceptional service!
Recommends: Definitely visit the beach and have a meal at the Last Inn - great food.Group from West Midlands - 3rd April 2017
Excellent situation 5 minutes from the beach and fantastic views. Cottage was spacious and comfortable. Everyone - parents, children, their partners all had a great time. Must eat at Tilmans in Barmouth which has very good food and beer. The best place to eat is Bwyty Mawddach which served some of the best food I have ever tasted. Need to book both places as they are popular. Barmouth has a brilliant beach.Chris from London - 23rd July 2016
Lovely, but too short.
Tips: Isis in Barmouth allows dogs in and also has wifi so we caught up while we had our meals which were very good. Down by the harbour.Pauline from Sutton Coldfield - 25th June 2016
Cottage and garden was stunning with superb view. Everything was perfect. Use the local beaches and follow the coastal walks.Margaret from Birmingham - 21st May 2016
