Amongst the range of things to do during your stay at Maesmor, the mountain walk over Aran Fawddwy is highly recommended – with the added bonus of having a village pub to welcome you at both ends. If you enjoy walking, Aran Benllyn and Cadair Idris also offer popular mountain walks. For a more relaxing day out, sit back and enjoy the views on Bala Lake Railway or the narrow gauge railway at Talyllyn. Snowdonia National Park has also been awarded the 'International Dark Sky Reserve' status and Bwlch y Groes Pass, (just 2 miles from the cottage) has been rated as one of the best places for 'star-gazing' within the National Park.
