Description

Tyddyn Cae is a delightful converted farm building, all on one level, in a tranquil location, nestled within a 25 acre nature reserve, surrounded by lakes and woodland. This is a great location, between the coast of the Lleyn Peninsula and the mountains of the Snowdonia National Park. Criccieth 4.5 miles away, Porthmadog 9 miles, Abersoch 15 miles and Caernarfon 17 miles.

'There is something special about this location, its a perfect spot to just relax and enjoy the surrounding nature reserve, sit and read by the lake or wander along the local paths' from Jacky, our local property manager

The Cottage: this single storey detached cottage is one of a pair of cottages. The cottage is on a graveled courtyard, opposite Nythfa (WAG558) and alongside the owner's home. Heating is by storage heaters and electric stove. The owners welcome well behaved dogs.

Sitting Room: the spacious sitting room has a south facing picture window with a window seat and views of the surrounding countryside, and glimpses down to the sea at Abersoch. There are comfortable sofas, an electric log-effect stove, Freeview TV and DVD. The owners also provide a welcome pack and many homely touches much appreciated by the visitors!

kitchen/diner:  is well equipped with a modern electric cooker, fridge/freezer and microwave. The dining table has some built in seating with cushions. The shared utility room houses a coin operated washing machine and tumble dryer.

Bedrooms: there are two pretty bedrooms, a double and a twin.

Bathroom: with an electric shower over the bath, WC and basin.

Exterior: the cottage has its own private, fully enclosed lawned garden (accessed up 6 steps), with garden furniture. There is ample parking alongside the property, and secure bike storage.

This peaceful location has plenty to offer throughout the year. The nature reserve is a haven for birds and other wildlife. There is country walking from the door down the ancient tree-lined avenue of Lon Goed and on the nearby Wales Coastal Path. The quiet roads surrounding the property are ideal for cycling and the traffic-free Lon Eifion cycle route to Caernarfon is close by. There are superb beaches to explore on the nearby coast of the Lleyn Peninsula and popular coastal towns such as Pwllheli and Abersoch. A visit to the ancient castles at Criccieth, Harlech and Caernarfon is a must and there are many other popular visitor attractions, such as The Welsh Highland Railway at Porthmadog, the Italianate village of Portmeirion and the Snowdonia National Park, all within a short driving distance.

Reviews

Warm welcome and a very well equipped cottage. Dog friendly garden and great walks

Mr Steven S,

A bit further from local amenties than we'd thought but not a problem. The cottage was comfortable and cosy and the garden one of the largest we've experienced in holiday cottages.

Mr Stephen D,

The local area was absolutely stunning and there was so much to do.

Mr Mark T,

Beautiful cottage in idyllic setting. Easy access to numerous attractions/days out. Very well equipped.

Mrs Joanne A,

I would recommend it to any dog owner!
