Description

Set in an enviable location between the majestic mountains of Snowdonia and the unspoilt coastline of the Lleyn Peninsula, Nythfa is a single storey former farm building, set within a tranquil 25 acre nature reserve, surrounded by lakes, woodland and open countryside: the perfect place to relax and unwind. Criccieth 4.5 miles away, Porthmadog 9 miles, Abersoch 15 miles and Caernarfon 17 miles.

'There is something special about this location, its a perfect spot to just relax and enjoy the surrounding nature reserve, sit and read by the lake or wander along the local paths' from Jacky, our local property manager

The Cottage: this cosy detached cottage is sited on a graveled courtyard, opposite Tyddyn Cae WAG557 and alongside the owner's home. Heating is by storage heaters and wood burning stove.

Living Room: entrance is into the open plan sitting/dining room and kitchen which retain much character with an oak beamed ceiling and the original inglenook fireplace, now with a woodburning stove (initial logs supplied). The sitting room has Freeview TV and DVD.  A lovely welcome pack is included along with many homely touches and a warm welcome from the owners.

Kitchen:  the kitchen area is well equipped with a modern electric cooker, fridge/freezer and microwave. The separate, shared utility room houses a coin operated washing machine and tumble dryer.

Bedrooms: there are two bedrooms. The double has built in wardrobe, and the single has storage and views over the garden.

Bathroom: the tiled bathroom has an electric shower over the bath. basin and WC

Exterior: steps lead down to a private lawned garden with fruit trees and graveled patio area with garden furniture. There is ample parking alongside the property and secure bike storage is available.

This is an ideal location for nature and countryside lovers, walkers and cyclists. The (traffic-free) Lon Eifion cycle route to Caernarfon is nearby, along with other marked cycle routes. Plenty of country walks, including the Wales Coastal Path and Lon Goed, an ancient tree-lined path. For more serious walking and climbing, the Snowdonia National Park is just a short drive away. Criccieth, 4.5 miles away, has a wonderful ancient castle overlooking Cardigan Bay with excellent views towards Snowdonia, a long sandy beach and the famous Cadwalader's ice cream parlour! Pwllheli is a good base for watersports, with its marina and beaches. Porthmadog, Caernarfon and Harlech, on the western side of Snowdonia, have many other attractions, all within easy driving distance. This wonderful location has something for everyone!

Reviews

I would go back there again, lovely cottage and warm welcome. Many people in visitors book have returned, some several times. The cottage is very well equipped for self catering. Back garden could be beautiful if worked on. There is lots to do in the area, a week is not long enough.

Dr Brian H,

This property is in a rural location and very quiet, yet it has easy access to Snowdonia, Anglesey and the general North Wales area.

Mrs J S,

We were impressed by your level of service, and had a wonderful holiday, thank you

Mr Michael H,

This is a lovely little cottage, well looked after and very well equipped, in an attractive and peaceful location. The owners of this property are attentive and considerate and have made us very welcome for our second visit. We hope there will be a third.

Mr Richard M,
