Description

Ty Hir is superbly restored Welsh longhouse cottage sitting in spacious gardens, which has undergone a complete renovation making extensive use of local materials. This beautiful barn conversion combines a traditional exterior with a modern and contemporary interior. The cottage has the luxury of two separate lounges and sleeps 10 guests in four en suite bedrooms, making ideal accommodation for large families and groups of friends.

The ground floor living room is a lovely light room with slate flooring, leather sofas, flatscreen TV with Freeview, huge inglenook fireplace with log burning stove and a dining table and chairs for 10. The kitchen is fitted with contemporary oak units, a range cooker with electric ovens and gas hob, slate worktops, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and microwave. A separate utility room houses a washing machine and tumble dryer, and also offers a secure area to store bikes. There are two bedrooms on the ground floor with twin beds, which can be made into king size beds if required. Each has an en suite - one a shower rooms with WC and basin and the other bathroom with a shower over the bath, basin and WC. Upstairs is the second lounge, a spacious mezzanine room overlooking the ground floor living room, with original beams, sofas and chairs, and a PC for guest use. A telephone is available for incoming calls. The third bedroom, also on the first floor, is a large family room sleeping four divided into two sections with twin beds in each - the furthest room can be made up as king size if required. The family suite has an adjacent shower room, with washbasin and WC, and some restricted headroom. The fourth bedroom is accessed externally - another king size or twin bedroom, with en suite shower room, with large shower cubicle, WC and basin.

Ty Hir is set in half an acre of gardens with lawns and pergola, apple trees, pear trees, a lavender avenue, grape vines, foxgloves and roses. In addition, the grounds include a pretty stream with small bridge, small pond (uncovered) and woodland extending to 0.75 acres. Guests can enjoy a patio area with chimnea and barbecue, and there is ample gated parking and secure bike storage.

One well behaved dog is welcome but the owner must supply bedding and sleeping basket. Dogs are only allowed to sleep in the adjoining utilities room or inner porch. Please clear away any mess in the garden or landscaped areas. At no times are animals allowed in the kitchen, bedrooms or upper lounge. Any damage caused by pets must be paid for.

Please note the grounds include a stream and lily pond so children should be supervised.

Reviews

It is a very nice place with ample parking for three cars, good size garden for children to play in but they will need supervision because of the proximity of the road, very spaces cottage, and a good location for main attractions.

Mr Stuart F,

Perfect location and for a gathering.
