Fferm Lloft is a sympathetic first floor barn conversion, situated on an organic working farm on the outskirts of Dyffryn Ardudwy village on the west coast of the Snowdonia National Park, between Barmouth and Harlech. This cosy apartment is very well presented and is packed with charm and character. It is a perfect getaway, just an easy walk to the stunning coast - about a mile and a half and fairly level, approached along a lane. Just a few steps from the apartment there is a Games Barn and laundry room, also converted from a traditional farm building. The cottage is one of a collection of four which can all be booked together (see Ivy House Barns). The Games Barn houses a 'pub style' pool table, table football, table tennis & film library. There is a children's play area and barbecue/picnic area with picnic tables and charcoal barbecue adjacent to the Games Barn.
'Dyffryn beach has the most majestic stretch of sand stretching into the distance in both directions, perfect for swimming, relaxing (there is a section of beach for naturists) or dog walking. You could walk in either direction to Barmouth or Harlech and get the train back.' from Jacky, our local property manager
The Cottage: is approached via external stone steps from where there are countryside and sea views in the distance. Many original features have been retained giving this beautiful self-catering accommodation charming character and a cottage feel. Secure bike storage is available and there is plenty of parking.
The Living Room: is furnished with sofa, table and chairs, flatscreen Freeview TV, DVD player, music system, WiFi and living flame gas fire.
The Kitchen: the compact but well-equipped kitchen has a gas cooker, fridge with ice compartment, dishwasher and microwave.
There is one en suite bedroom (plus cot)
Bedroom 1: has a double bed in a room with lovely views over the surrounding countryside.
Bathroom: the en suite bathroom has a bath with shower over, basin and WC
Utility Room: the shared utility room has two washing machines, a tumble dryer, ironing board and iron.
There are two pubs, a newsagent; village store, cafe and railway station just a short walk away. The vast sandy beach is stunning and stretches for miles. Visit Harlech for the stunning castle, independent shops and cafes, sandy beach, golf, theatre and leisure centre. The traditional seaside resort of Barmouth is a must for the beach, boat rides, shops and most importantly, ice creams! The Mawddach Estuary trail is fantastic for walking and cycling, and there is a local Farm Park and Slate Caverns. Portmeirion is 20 miles away, Porthmadog for Welsh Highland Railway, 22 miles and Blaenau Ffestiniog for ZipWorld, 20 miles.

7 things to do from on the Cambrian coastline, Dyffryn Ardudwy, Harlech and Barmouth
1 – Summer or winter the vast sandy beaches along this section of the coastline are always stunning. The view from the road above can simply take your breath away as you look down across the sands to the distant mountains of Snowdonia beyond.
2- Take a scenic journey on the Cambrian Coast main line railway, lovely in either direction, or walk sections of the coastline and get the train back. There’s a station at Dyffryn Ardudwy, Harlech and Barmouth
3- Cycle a section of Lon Las Cymru (Route 8), a long-distance cycle way stretching from Holyhead the length of Wales to Cardiff. Beware of the section in the hills behind Harlech though, its on very seep lanes!
4- A visit to Harlech and its castle is a must. The castle is looked after by CADW and there are events on throughout the year. The village itself has some lovely cafes, my favourites are Llew Glas and Harlech Castle café, both serving delicious homemade food.
5- The Rhinog mountains behind the coast are known as one of the last remaining wilderness areas in Britain. One of the more popular walks is up the ‘Roman Steps’ from Cwm Bychan. Another is a visit to the Nantcol river and waterfalls, great for swimming if the weather is warm.
6- Barmouth is a thriving seaside resort with a vintage seaside atmosphere of candyfloss, ice creams and donkey rides. The beach is great, there’s a small fun fair during the summer, and the town itself has plenty of independent shops, cafes and restaurants. Boat trips and canoe and SUP hire can also be arranged here.
7- Within an hour drive you can visit many of the most popular attractions of north Wales; including Portmeirion Italianate village, the West Highland and Ffestiniog steam Railway, Zip World zip wires and Bounce Below underground trampolines at Blaenau Ffestiniog and the mountains of Snowdonia for walks or the train up Snowdon itself.
Lovely peaceful position and friendly hosts. Will return Mr Robin Dynes - 31st July 2018
Lovely quiet break. The place is lovely, views are amazing and everything you need is in the apartment. The games room is great if the weather is a bit rainy. Storm Ophelia and storm Brian arrived while we were here. The homemade welcome fruit cake was especially tasty.Georgina - 22nd October 2017
