Description

Efail Wen is a semi-detached stone cottage dating back to the early 1800s, just below the popular and scenic Ffestiniog Railway and just 20 yds to Penrhyn station. This is a short stroll down to the shops, small supermarket, cafe, local butcher and fish and chip shop in the small village of Penrhyndeudraeth, 2 miles to the famous Italianate village of Portmeirion, 3 miles from the bustling town and harbour of Porthmadog and around 4 miles to the beach at Borth -y- Gest.

The Cottage: has been charmingly renovated to provide comfortable accommodation throughout the year in this convenient and popular location. Heating with a combination of underfloor heating, the woodburning stove and storage heaters.

The Sitting Room: has beamed ceilings and a lovely woodburning stove in the inglenook fireplace, (initial supply of logs provided), two comfortable sofas, a Smart Freeview TV, Blue tooth DAB radio and speaker and WiFi.

The Dining Room: this spacious separate room with a tiled floor, underfloor heating and handy ‘ Sheila Maid’ clothes dryer, has a table and chairs for four with a door to the rear garden.

The Kitchen: The fitted, galley style kitchen also has cosy underfloor heating and is equipped with a washing machine, electric cooker with extractor fan over, fridge with freezer compartment and microwave.

There are two first floor bedrooms

Bedroom 1: is a twin room with views over the village to the Dwyryd estuary mountains beyond.

Bedroom 2: is a lovely double also with mountain views to the front and overlooking the Ffestiniog Railway to the rear.

Bathroom:   is a first-floor bathroom with electric shower over the bath, WC, basin and heated towel rail.

Exterior:  Steps lead up to a terrace and patio area with garden furniture. 

Efail Wen is 5 minutes' walk to the village with shops, cafe and a pub. There are sandy beaches at Borth-y-Gest and Black Rock Sands about 4 miles away. The village is on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park with superb walking, biking and other outdoor activities. 5 miles to Beddgelert and 13 miles to Harlech with its castle and renowned Golf course. Zip World Titan zip wire, underground caverns and Bounce Below trampolines are around 8 miles away.

Pets Welcome -10 per dog for short breaks or £15 for a week
