Hunker down in a characterful three-bed stone cottage in the pretty lakeside market town of Bala in Snowdonia National Park. Benefit from being close to an array of shops and eateries while also being surrounded by dramatic landscapes and untouched nature. Spend your days hiking, mountain biking or dipping your toe into some new water sports before putting your feet up and relaxing with your guests in the bright and airy living space with a log burner and unobstructed countryside views through the wall of glass windows.

On the ground floor is a light, neutral-toned kitchen/diner with farmhouse-style wooden topped units and a dining table with chairs. The sociable space is ideal for special mealtimes with your guests. Continue into the lounge, where natural light pours in through the dual-aspect windows. Two sofas and a wood burner sit against exposed stone walls beneath the wooden beamed ceiling. There is also a king-size bedroom and a bathroom. Upstairs is another bathroom plus two more king-size bedrooms. Outside is a paved patio area with furniture and a BBQ.

Wake up and start your day with a stroll into the centre of Bala (less than 0.5 miles) or along Bala lake (less than 500 metres away). There’s also a lakeside steam train which takes you from town to Llanuwchllyn (4 miles). Discover the idyllic Coed y Brenin Forest Park (23.5 miles), where you’ll find nature trails, cycle paths and waterfalls. Enjoy a day of thrills rafting at the National White Water Centre (4 miles). Very lovely and comfortable cottage for a true home away from home feel. Brilliant location for walking distance into the town, and very well located for hiking nearby.
