This Snowdonia self catering cottage offers a great place to relax in the middle of the National Park, with the added bonus of being within a short walking distance of a village pub and shop. Located on a quiet side street in the heart of the mountain village of Dolwyddelan, this lovely terraced stone cottage is a stone's throw from Dolwyddelan Castle and just 5 miles from Swallow Falls and Betws y Coed. Views to the front across open fields, mountains to the rear and excellent walks from the doorstep.
A comfortable, spacious lounge featuring a fireplace with a woodburner effect electric fire welcomes you to this luxury Snowdonia self catering cottage. Flat screen freeview TV, DVDs and player, CD player and good lighting. The room is light and airy and enjoys views onto a field and valley at the front and patio and hill at rear of the cottage.
Large kitchen diner with patio doors and view of Moel Siabod. Electric hob and oven, dishwasher, microwave, fridge and freezer. Generously equipped for those who enjoy eating at home.
Utility room with washing machine, WC and hand basin. There is also a cupboard by the front door that offers a spacious area for coats and shoes, vacuum cleaner, ironing board and clothes airer etc.

Although there is no tumble dryer, washing will dry overnight on the clothes airer if left by the storage heaters. There is also a rotary dryer for the patio.

Bwthyn yr Eglwys is an old miner’s cottage in the small village of Dolwyddelan with fields to front and rear. It has a small garden and paved patio. There is a beautiful view of Moel Siabod from the front and rear of this beautiful Snowdonia self catering cottage and from the kitchen windows.
After a long day of walking, the village inn (also with free wifi) provides the perfect place for a rewarding drink before retiring back to the comforts of the cottage. ‘Ty Gwyn’ is another option – an old coaching inn about 4 miles down the main road which also offers a wonderful, extensive menu with hearty portions. Various other options can be found 5 miles from the cottage in Betws-y-Coed, with its range of cafés, restaurants and bars. There is a very well stocked shop with long opening hours about 150 metres from the cottage for your daily newspaper and fresh produce, just in case you feel like doing some home cooking.
Located between Betws-y-Coed (North Wales’ main walking centre) and Blaenau Ffestiniog, this Snowdonia self catering cottage has a wide range of activities on its doorstep, including walking, trekking, canoeing, tree-top climbing, mountain biking, golfing and fishing. Top attractions in the area include Dolwyddelan Castle, Fairy Glen, Swallow Falls and Conwy Falls (which also has a café with a wonderful selection of speciality teas and coffee and tasty cakes).
Also recommended are the range of interesting local walks from the cottage, Ffestiniog Railway and Llechwedd Slate Caverns in Blaenau Ffestiniog. There is also a Local Information Centre in Betws-y-Coed. 'Nowhere is too far in Snowdonia' - the beaches on the North Wales Coast are all within an hours scenic drive. Llandudno and Conwy (20 miles) are smart seaside resorts with shops, castles etc. Porthmadog (24 miles) is a small harbour town with gift shops, steam trains and good eating places.
Moel Siabod (Snowdonia mountain walk) – Dolwyddelan over to Capel Curig. Rewarding route for experienced walkers. 0.5 miles.
Gwydir Forest to Pont y Pair Bridge – 5 mile walk starting from Betws-y-Coed. Suitable for all ages (2-3 hours). 5 miles from cottage.
Llanrwst Walk – Llanrwst. Easy / moderate 3.5 mile circular walk (approx 2 hours). 9 miles from cottage.
Carneddau (Snowdonia mountain walks) – Challenging walks, including the 2nd and 3rd highest peaks in Wales. Nearest route starts in Helyg, Capel Curig. 10 miles
The Glyderau (Snowdonia mountain walks) – Llyn Ogwen. Challenging range including 5 of the 14 highest peaks in Wales. 10 miles from cottage.
Geirionydd & Crafnant Lakes (passing Fairy Falls) – Trefriw. Moderate circular walk (approx 3 hours). 11 miles from cottage.
Llyn Cowlyd (Snowdonia Leisure Walk) – Trefriw. Moderate / strenuous walk (approx 3 hours). 11 miles from cottage.
River Llugwy – Betws-y-Coed. Here you will find 2.5 miles of river that can be fished either with bait or fly. 5 miles.
Llyn Crafnant – Try your hand at catching local trout in the beautiful surroundings of Conwy Valley. 11 miles.
The Fairy Glen – This is a thrilling experience for the expert canoeists among you! 2km of the best hard sections of the British Isles await you along the Fairy Glen, Betws-y-Coed. 5 miles.
Betws y Coed Golf Club – 18 hole golf course, open to non members all year round. 5 miles.
Gwydir Forest - Mountain biking with miles of forest trails, including the Marin Trail. Suitable for all levels. 7 miles from cottage.
Penmachno Trail – This 18 mile trail takes you through the scenic countryside of the Conwy Valleys. 9 miles
