Ysgubor Wen is a newly renovated cottage, a 15-minute walk from Llanrwst, in the stunning Conwy valley. This former outbuilding has been lovingly restored to a high standard, with a double height open plan living space, convenient ground floor bedroom and shower room, and a gorgeous sunny patio to relax or dine al fresco, in this lovely rural location. Footpaths lead from the door across fields to the market town of Llanrwst, with shops and plenty of good places to eat. This is a perfect location for exploring the Snowdonia National Park, with gentle strolls or mountain adventures all on your doorstep. There are fantastic mountain bike trails close by and lakes and rivers to explore or swim in. Adventure Parc Snowdonia and Zip World Fforest adventures are a short drive away.

The Cottage: is light and airy, with underfloor heating and wooden flooring throughout. The owners live nearby and are on hand to help you make the most of your holiday.  Access to the cottage is down a well-maintained single-track road.

Living Dining Room: this open plan space has two comfortable sofas, Freesat TV/DVD and double doors leading to the patio. The dining area has a table and seating for five.

Kitchen: is well equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave, and integrated oven and hob with extractor over. The island unit allows you to cook and chat with fellow guests seated at the dining table or in the sitting area.

There are three bedrooms; one on the ground floor and two upstairs

Bedroom 1: is a ground floor single with plenty of storage space and a stable door leading to the patio.

Shower Room: is on the ground floor adjacent to the single bedroom. This modern room has a large shower enclosure, WC, basin and heated towel rail.

Lovely open wooden stairs lead to the first-floor gallery with two bedrooms, one at either end

Bedroom 2: a double, in the eaves, with two large Velux windows and plenty of storage. There is some height restriction around the sides of the bed. Hairdryer

Bedroom 3: is a twin bedroom in the eaves, with a cute little low-level window. Some restricted head room around the beds.

Outside: the paved patio is enclosed and has patio furniture to relax in. Plenty of parking available for guests

The market town of Llanrwst is a couple of miles away, famous for the much-photographed Ty Hwnt café by the bridge. There is also an award-winning Indian restaurant and plenty of shops and cafes. Walks can be taken along the river. Betws-y-Coed is a short drive away and is known as ‘the gateway to Snowdonia’. Reviews

We had a great week at Ysgubor Wen. The place was comfortable for the 2 of us. Nice little welcome pack on arrival with a bottle of wine and other bits, and milk in the fridge. Very clean, fantastic views, and well located. Great base for exploring the coast and also Snowdonia National Park. Really friendly hosts, they kindly allowed us to keep our bikes in the barn. A truly lovely part of the world, we had a great week that we'll never forget!

Mr T,

We loved it here and felt very at home for the week. The cottage was absolutely immaculate on arrival. Kitchen equipment and crockery looked brand new and sparkling clean. It was nice and spacious and comfortable for us as a couple and little dog. The location was so quiet and relaxing and the little outdoor garden was a lovely place to have a coffee in the morning and eat in the evening. Situated in a great spot for Betws y Coed and a picturesque drive to the mountains. Also great to have Llanwrst down the road for shops and essentials. Would thoroughly recommend!

Mrs E,

I cannot speak highly enough of the propety, location or owners. The cottage was spotlessly clean and well equipped for a family of 5 and dog! The owners were friendly without being intrusive. Upon arrival we were greeted with tea, coffee and drinking chocolate, milk, biscuits, and most importantly, a bottle of wine! A fantastic spot for exploring North Wales. We certainly intend to return.

Mrs M,

Our family of 5 and a dog had a very enjoyable stay. The hosts were very nice, cheerful and willing to help. Good accessibility to Snowdonia, Betwys, Conwy and all local attractions. The cottage is well kept, clean and cosy. Quiet location and lovely views. I would recommend this cottage for your stay.

Mrs S,

Ysgubor Wen is a cosy semi-open plan cottage in a quiet farmland setting, less than 2 miles from the small town of Llanrwst, ideally situated to reach popular sites as varied as the Swallow Falls, the north coast around Llandudno and Mount Snowdon. Upon arrival, we found the cottage in tiptop condition such that we could be forgiven for thinking that no-one had occupied the place before us, such was the high standard of cleaning. There were plenty of personal touches, especially with regards to our Border Collie as treats were available, while the owners of the site made themselves visible for us to engage in occasional social chats. An excellent, memorable week all round for the whole family.

Mr P,

Amazing barn/stable conversion completed to a high standard in a stunning location surrounded by fields of sheep and cattle. So relaxing. Owners very friendly and helpful. Booking with Best of Wales was stress free!

Mrs S,

Lovely holiday cottage, well equipped and spotlessly clean. Rooms of comfortable sizes and downstairs was perfect for our family of 2 adults, 1 child, 1 infant. We would recommend.

Mrs M,

Beautifully and tastefully decorated - well thought out living space - absolutely spotless. Amazing there are three good sized bedrooms. Functional kitchen with good size fridge and freezer (not just an icebox)! Peaceful and picturesque surroundings, looking out over rolling hills from enclosed patio (suitable for small dogs - spaniels and bigger will jump the wall!) Small working farm behind with only a handful of cows added to the rural scene. Woodland walks and Public footpaths leading directly from the property makes for a peaceful vacation - only 20 minutes drive to the nearest beaches too - a great base for exploring North Wales. Hosts very pleasant - introduced themselves but left us to it. Directions on the welcome info were clear and precise as it off the beaten track! We will most definitely be back - we had a wonderful break - April 2021!

Mrs W,

We stayed at Ysgubor Wen for 5 nights and it was the perfect family getaway. We were so pleased to find such a lovely cottage, so pretty and cosy and well equipped with everything we needed for our stay. We were travelling with two young children so the provision of a stair gate and travel cot was a huge help, and everything had been thought of in the kitchen which made a big difference to us. The milk in the fridge and bottle of wine waiting for us on arrival was also very much appreciated! We enjoyed sitting outside with a drink with wonderful views in the evenings. It was also very helpful to be provided with lots of info on nearby places to visit and a handy list of the nearest shops/pubs/takeaways, every detail had been thought of. Ysgubor Wen was a great base to explore the beautiful Snowdonia and we hope to be back one day. Thank you Jacqui and Andrew for such a lovely stay!

V W,

Thank you for a lovely weekend, Storm Dennis didn't stop us from enjoying this beautiful cottage! Lots of games to play and films to watch. Lovely warm welcome. Thank you
