Description

The Lodge is a fine example of a Victorian estate cottage, once the gatehouse to the Grade II listed Plas Boduan. In a lovely position just off the Nefyn to Pwllheli road in the heart of the Llyn Peninsula at Boduan, surrounded by unspoilt countryside yet within easy reach of the beaches at Morfa Nefyn 3 miles, Abersoch 9 miles, and the popular town of Pwllheli 4 miles.

The cottage: this pretty C19 cottage is all on one level and has a large extension to the rear which gives a light and spacious lounge. Wooden style flooring throughout and central heating.

Sitting room: has sliding glass doors on two sides, opening to the natural woodland garden and secluded hot tub. There is ample comfortable seating-including a bed settee, a wood burning stove (with initial logs provided), Freesat TV/DVD/WiFi, a sound system and even a piano.

Kitchen: the separate smart kitchen diner has a dishwasher, washer/dryer, built in electric oven, microwave, hob and fridge with small freezer compartment. There is a breakfast bar with stools and a dining area with antique table and chairs.

Bedrooms: there are two delightful ground floor bedrooms both with the original leaded windows, one with a good quality king size bed and one with another good super king size that can be separated into twin beds. Both rooms have coordinated bedroom furniture and attractive furnishings.

Bathroom: this gorgeous modern bathroom has a luxurious free standing bath, and large shower cubicle, WC and basin.

Outside: the hot tub is on the secluded patio to the rear surrounded by wild garden and woodland. The sheltered patio with table and chairs is a sun trap, the perfect place for relaxing, again surrounded by wild unkempt garden.

You will be spoilt for choice with things to do and places to visit from The Lodge. The surrounding countryside is crisscrossed with paths and country lanes for walking, cycling and bird watching. The long sandy beach at Morfa Nefyn  on the north coast of the Llyn Peninsula is popular with families, whilst Porthdinllaen, a much photographed stretch of coastline, has the popular Ty Coch pub right on the beach. There is a small shop and cafe at Morfa Nefyn with further shops, pubs and cafes at Nefyn.  Pwllheli has all the facilities you would expect from a thriving small town and is very popular for sailing, with events held throughout the year. Further afield a short drive will get you to the Snowdonia National Park and the castles of Caernarfon and Criccieth.

Reviews

Beautiful cottage in a lovely setting and facilities were great.

Miss W,

The Lodge is ideal for us having a nervous dog! No neighbours or passing traffic! Enclosed garden is fabulous. Everything we needed and more because we haven’t used the hot tub yet. Coast is only a short drive away. Lovely and comfortable. We shall be back!

Mrs S,

Lovely stay. Simple. Clean. Gorgeous area.

Dr D,

Cottage is in a very quiet location not much traffic noise, very comfortable beds and sofas and well equipped, garden is nice but a bit uneven on patio for elderly or young children. The hot tub is a lovely plus. Overall, a lovely cottage in a good area for exploring, we enjoyed our stay here very much.

Mrs N,

Lovely cottage: well equipped and comfortable.
