Greaves Wharf House is the ground floor apartment of this historic 19th century Wharf Master's office, more recently the cottage was owned by the family of Shand Kydd, Lady Diana's mother. It enjoys a fabulous waterside position adjacent to Porthmadog harbour. Just 20 yards from the door you can sit on the harbour wall and enjoy the stunning views, ever-changing tidal flow and watch the boats go by. The Wales Coastal Path runs directly alongside the property.

‘if you are looking for freshly baked goodies to enjoy either in the café or back at the cottage then stroll into Porthmadog to the Big Rock Café, one of my favourite cafes in the area!’ from Jacky, our local property manager

The cottage: this detached stone cottage has been converted into a simple two-bed roomed ground floor apartment. Underfloor heating in the kitchen and bathroom.

Sitting room: the open plan living/dining room is furnished with a leather sofa, armchairs, flat screen TV with entertainment channels and catch-up, DVD, iPod docking port, and WiFi. There is a wooden table and chairs with a window seat to sit in and watch the world go by.

The kitchen: is fitted with a integrated oven, ceramic hob, extractor fan, fridge, separate freezer, microwave and dishwasher.  There is a washing machine and tumble dryer in the utility room.

There are two bedrooms

Bedroom 1:  a king size with flat screen TV

Bedroom 2:  a twin (2 ft 6 width beds which can be arranged as a double on request).

Bathroom: the modern, fully tiled bathroom, has a bath with a shower over, washbasin and WC.

Outside: there is a private car park next to the property with space for 2 cars and although Greaves Wharf House does not have its own garden it is just yards from the waterside in a conservation area and is also just around the corner from a park and play area.

A very short stroll takes you to the station for the Welsh Highland Railway or into the lively town of Porthmadog, with plenty of independent shops, cafes and restaurants. This cottage really is in a fantastic location! The superb sandy beaches of Borth-y-Gest and Black rock sands are just a mile away, the Italianate village of Portmeirion, 2 miles, the coastal path on your doorstep, and the Snowdonia National Park a short drive away.

Great property in an excellent location. An unforeseeable problem with the shower was quickly dealt with by the owner who was friendly and helpful.

Mr Jonathan S,

The cottage was ideal as a start point to touring the Llyn peninsula. It was very cosy and homely and we really enjoyed our stay there.

Mrs Barbara C,

The bustling small town of Porthmadog is situated in a stunning coastal location at the edge of the Snowdonia National Park. The pretty conservation quayside is also home to the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Steam Railway, a must for children and adults of any age, whilst the town has a comprehensive range of shops and restaurants.

The Victorian seaside resort of Borth y Gest,  with its pretty harbour, sheltered beach and lovely walking along the coast to sheltered coves with stunning views down the welsh coastline is just around the corner. Black Rock Sands, with its large golden beach has areas where car access is allowed so is perfect for boats and jet skis.

A must on most peoples list to visit is the famous Italianate village of Portmerion, full of charm and history, in a beautiful location with delightful walks and gardens.  The historic castles and pretty villages at Criccieth and Harlech are also within easy reach. Within half an hour's drive you can be exploring the coastal paths of the Lleyn Peninsula or the mountains and lakes of the Snowdonia National Park with mountain walking, rock climbing, kayaking and cycling or just  travelling around sightseeing. For those seeking man made adventure, Zip World Titan and Bounce Below underground trampolines are 15 miles away at Blaenau Ffestiniog.
