Rest and recharge at this rural bolthole on the Llyn Peninsula. The property is set in a peaceful hamlet and is surrounded by beautiful countryside and endless walking opportunities. The holiday home is ideal for small families and, with its sociable, open-plan layout, it’s the perfect base for spending quality time together. Heading north, you’ll soon reach the harbour town of Nefyn (6 miles), or on the south coast you’ll find the picturesque village of Abersoch (5.5 miles).

Steps lead to the single-storey property. Once inside, head through the hallway and up two steps to the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This bright and spacious area is decorated in neutral tones and has wooden floors and high ceilings. After a day of adventure, cook together in the kitchen area, share memorable mealtimes around the dining table, and stretch out on the comfortable corner sofa to watch TV. There’s also a collection of books and board games. The property has two bedrooms – a double with an additional futon bed for a child, and a children’s twin. A bathroom rounds off this family retreat. French doors lead from the lounge to the raised patio, with a picnic table for outdoor dining and countryside views. You’ll also have an enclosed lawn, which is ideal for canine visitors.

Enjoy a day out in Nefyn on the north coast. The attractive town has a good selection of eateries, as well as a stunning crescent beach, fascinating maritime museum, and jaw-dropping headland golf course. Alternatively, head to Abersoch, which is a small, seaside village with bags of personality. Dine in one of the quirky restaurants, followed by a stroll along the sandy beach or a boat trip to St Tudwal’s Islands. There are also some exhilarating walks that branch away from the village, following the Wales Coast Path.

We really enjoyed our stay here, the cottage is lovely and well equipped with ample parking space and nice garden. A short drive to the stunning beaches in the area and some local walks.

Perfect holiday home for a family of four! We were overwhelmed by the stunning views. Even when it rains, it still manages to captivate you. We did some wonderful hikes with the children and visited Blair castle. The kitchen has everything you need. It is just big enough, which gave us a cosy feeling. We would definitely recommend this cottage.

We stayed at Gwelfryn in August 2023, great communication before starting the holiday with Sally the owner, then arrived to spotlessly clean accommodation, with everything needed for our stay as per the description. Lovely outside and secure space for the children and dog to roam freely. Great location to a number of our favourite Beaches incluRead moreding llanbedrog (National Trust), Abersoch and Morfa Nefyn (Porthdillian) which are all within 15 minutes by car ideal location for families for a great comfortable base. Some great dog friendly pubs nearby including Y Bryncynan at Nefyn would recommend to book in busy holiday periods and the Glyn y Weddw Arms at Llanbedrog great play area and allow dogs in a covered area outside. We hope to return in 2024. Hide
