Treat yourselves to a superb break at this stylish Welsh barn conversion near Barry. Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom holiday home makes a great base from which to explore the Glamorgan Heritage Coast, enjoy days out on the beach and to make the most of the bright lights of Cardiff city, 10.5 miles away. With a garden, with views out over the Dyffryn Country Estate and the Vale of Glamorgan, this holiday home is also a superb place to simply bask in the Welsh sunshine and relax.

Enter the single-storey retreat to find airy accommodation with high ceilings, exposed beams and an abundance of natural light. One of two adjoining holiday homes designed at a raised level, it has an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with doors opening on to a glass-balustraded balcony at its heart. Cook for your friends and family, gather round the table, listen to music on the Bluetooth soundbar and watch the Smart TV together in here. When you are read to turn in for the night, head off to either the double bedroom, with en-suite shower room, or the king-size bedroom, with en-suite bathroom. Both have TVs so you can enjoy lazy mornings in bed. Relax on the balcony with a cup of coffee when you awake, watch the children as they play on the grass and fire up the BBQ on summer evenings to cook outside. The cottage comes with cycle storage and private parking.

Head into Barry to experience all the fun of a traditional seaside holiday. Barry Island Pleasure Park and the beach at Whitmore Bay, 3.5 miles away, are both popular with families. Spend time at Porthkerry Country Park, also 3.5 miles away, where there are 220 scenic acres of woods and meadowland, with nature trails and picnic areas, as well as a beach.

Absolutely loved our stay. The owners were very friendly and supported our need to check in early with no charge. Cottage was very clean and well looked after. The only thing I'd say is that the towels were very rough/hard and not comfortable to use. Other than that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be returning in the future.
