Description

Gorgeous log cabin located over looking an idyllic lake in South Wales. Pet-friendly and located on a working farm this lodge is set in a country location yet has great access and transport links to all of South Wales and across the border into the Bristol and the West Country of England. Heading North you have Monmouthshire, Abergavenny and the Brecon Beacons National Park to enjoy. Caerphilly Castle (famous for its leaning tower) is one of the most spectacular and largest in Western Europe and is only a short drive away. Within the past few years this region has held many prestigious events including a NATO summit, Ryder Cup and The UEFA Champions League final. The lodge can sleep up to 6 via use of an additional pull out bed.

 

Ground floor

Lounge and dining area, with bi-fold doors opening out on to patio area. TV, DVD and a selection of books and games. Wood burner (first basket of logs provided) . Fully equipped kitchen with full sized fridge and freezer, dishwasher, electric oven and gas hob, microwave, toaster and kettle.  Table and chairs for 6.  Bedroom 1 - Twin bedroom with two single beds and a chest of draws. Bedroom 2  - Double bed, wardrobe and lake views. Leads on into bedroom 3. Bedroom 3 - Single bedroom with lake views accessed via bedroom 2. (1 extra pull out bed available, please request when booking . Master Bathroom with bath, shower over bath, wc and basin.

 

Outside

Large patio area overlooking the lake, Picnic bench and rattan furniture (sofa and chairs). BBQ (gas) and chiminea. Garden area is enclosed by wooden fence.

This property has it's own water supply which is tested and filtered

Electricity & central heating included.

Travel cot and high chair available (please request when booking). Please bring your own bed linen for the cot.

The following items are also provided at the cottage for your stay… Kitchen: salt and pepper, kitchen roll, washing up liquid/dishwasher tabs, new dishcloths and scourer, Bathroom: soap and 2 toilet rolls per toilet. General cleaning products: bleach, shower cleaner, anti-bacterial spray etc.

No smoking inside.

There is no fishing allowed on the lake.

Pets - 2 dogs max (please note dogs are not allowed in the lake).

Strictly not to be hired for parties.

Accessible information

Accommodation is all on the ground floor

All doors are 2’9” into all rooms

Parking area to the side of the Lodge on a flat parking area. This area provides for a spacious and safe exit from vehicles

There is a lip on the main door, and a small raise between living area and bathroom but all the rest is level.

Fantastic location. Great lodge. Weather mixed so central heating and log fire was great. Went to Barry Island twice as so lovely and dog friendly beaches (not main beach). Also Porthcawl as too wet for forest/hill walks. Tredegar House grounds great for dogs. Felt so relaxed reading, watching wildlife etc. Perfect break!
