Having stayed at Lilac House a good many times in its previous guise, we were a little apprehensive but all that more evaporated on out arrival - it's the same place only much more comfortable and retains its former spirit. We've missed Overton in the last couple of years and have had a grand week walking the cliff paths, admiring the lambs on the way down to Overton, striding over to Horton and the younger members of our family walking to Rhossili. We've seen all sorts of birds, watched crabs emerge from the sand and seen foals on the cliff path. A special week. It's so lovely to return here, especially after such a year. We have loved Lilac House and to see it restored and renewed so sympathetically is wonderful,
We have loved staying here. In these strange times we found the house so well-equipped for us to self-cater. Fantastic walks, chilly but great sea swims and generally potting about. Many thanks, we've had a wonderful, relaxing time. We will be sure to return in the future.
What a great place for our bi-annual family holiday with our daughter and their partner. This house is probably the best holiday cottage we have stayed in. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook excellent evening meals. The whole house was beautifully clean when we arrived. Lovely house, thank you. We also really enjoyed the garden.
Absolutely cracking house for a staycation. So nice. Everything you could want except possibly a BBQ. Great base for exploring this amazing coastline.
The house was perfect for us. The weather was fantastic and Gower, as always, was beautiful. We bought our children to Gower in 1984 and the have returned with their children. We love the house, the garden, the new patio and the whole holiday.
A perfect getaway to relax at New Year with all the family. The house had everything we needed. We did some fabulous walks along the coastal paths. The lounge was fabulous for relaxing in each evening. The bathroom and shower were great and plenty of water for all the guests. On New Year's Eve we made use of the lovely dining room and summer house. Walking to the Ship Inn was easy, as was getting to the beach. All of us had a lovely time, full relaxed to start 2020
We have had a perfect family Christmas holiday at Lilac House. Beautiful interiors, lovely garden and location - perfect for walks to the beach and a stop off at the pub! It was such a cosy cottage for a Christmas break and we made full use of the two wood burners. We have all had a fabulous time and only wish we could stay longer! A big thank you for a magical holiday.
What a truly lovely property. It was so well presented and equipped, a real 'home from home'. We have all, together with my dog, enjoyed the walks along the costal paths and also in land. The scenery is spectacular. The children have enjoyed surfing and swimming. All the beaches are stunning.
Four generations of the family have had a wonderful family week in your beautiful, comfortable and very well-equipped house. Our 16-week old baby enjoyed the quiet nights, lots to see and lovely walks in his carrier. Mum & Dad have enjoyed full night sleeps and the walks too. Two of us now live in Texas and became engaged on a walk at Rhossili and loved the surf and walks, We have enjoyed having all the family under one roof and visits from family in Vale of Glamorgan and to cousins in Cardigan. 94yr old Nannie has enjoyed watching the baby and found the house very accessible. We have all loved the beaches, the views, most of the footpaths and having such a comfortable space to be together. Thank you so much
We've stayed in Gower many times, but this house is our favourite so far. We loved being so close to beautiful cliff top walks and enjoyed the peace of the garden. The house was really well-equipped and a real 'home from home',
Is Lilac House suitable for 3 generations of 8 people? Without a doubt it is! Lots of positive things to say - garden (with plenty of cooking apples!), summer house used as a painting studio, patio to eat out on (we managed it twice), extremely well-equipped kitchen and loads of utensils. All comfy beds and great heating system. Good showers, plenty of hot water. Decorations up to date and clean. Lots of storage. In other words - lots of good things here! We did beaches, a number of walks from the house and one meal at The Ship Inn. So, you can see we think the house is just great. It suited us down to the ground.
We cane here with our son, daughter-in-law and their 5-month old and immediately loved the house, it's garden and lovely summer house and most vital - the weather weather has been lovely all week. First, I recommend reading their excellent welcome folders which we left until rather too late and would have saved a lot of time. Within a few minutes walk you are at the beach where the cafes and Ship Inn are excellent. We enjoyed the Falconry display place (see welcome folder), just 15 mins away, Oxwich Beach cafe and particularly Langland Brasserie (30 mins) and King Arthur Hotel. Hope to return.
Beautiful scenery, one of the best places I have ever been to for a holiday - a hidden jewell. Wonderful house, lovely walk down to Overton and climbing to see the smuggler's cove.
Loved the house and surroundings. Very comfortable and well-equipped, excellent inspiration pack. Good Sunday lunch at the Ship Inn. Footpaths easy to follow and wonderful views. Walked on my own and felt quite safe. One of my favourite spots at the house - sitting on the veranda in the morning sun having breakfast and looking at the very, very sheltered. Very much enjoyed out stay. Forgot to say - Rhossili beach is stunning.
What a fantastic time we have had since arriving. We could not have asked for a better house to stay in. Our daughter, aged 2, has loved the garden and playing hide and seek around the house. Our parents have had the best nights sleep in the comfy beds. Safe to say 3 generations have had a wonderful holiday and stay at Lilac House.
